Blistering Trouble

"I can't believe you're taking that stupid thing again." Peter whined referring to Mavis' fox Pippin, who was no longer a cub but a lovely fully grown fox.

"He isn't stupid." Argued back Mavis as the twins pushed their trolley through the station looking for their friends.

"Yeah only you would say so. If it bites my finger one more time, I'm ratting you out to Dumbledore." Peter continued, making Mavis roll her eyes. During their second year, Pippin had gone into a phase of nibbling things, and his favourite thing to nibble on had been Peter's fingers. This ran all through second year and into their summer holidays and it seemed as if Pippin was not going to stop biting at Peter's fingers. "At this rate I'll be lucky if I have all of my fingers left by the end of the year."

"Don't be dramatic. He's only playing-"

"Do you two ever stop fighting. I can hear you from the other end of the station." A voice said next to them. Mavis and Peter turned to look at their side and saw Remus Lupin standing there.

"Oh- hello Remus! Good summer?" Mavis asked as he began walking beside Peter.

"It was alright. How was yours?"

"It would've been better without Peter's consistent whining." Mavis said, glancing at her brother.

Peter replied with a scowl before saying, "It's not my fault, how would you feel living with a beast?"

"Good question, how would I feel?" Remus replied under his breath but both Peter and Mavis heard.

"Sorry..." Peter whispered to Remus. Mavis was about to question why he was apologising when a pair of arms flung around her shoulder.

"Mavis! I've missed you so much, how was your summer?" One of Mavis' dorm mates and best friends, Lily Evans said, before waving to Peter and Remus.

"It was good, Pete's been driving me insane, one more day and I think I would've ended up in Azkaban."

Lily laughed replying, "Yeah, same with me, Petunia is getting harder and harder to be around everyday, I'm glad to be going back to Hogwarts and I bet you are too now you can finally take Care of Magical Creature's. Hello Mrs Pettigrew! Did you have a good summer?"

"It was delightful dear. It was lovely to have you around as well." Mrs Pettigrew replied.

"Right I'm going to go find Sev. Alice and Marlene are already on the train and they're saving our seats! Bye!" Lily said as she turned and walked towards the station entrance.

Remus found Sirius and together they got on the train, where's James? Mavis thought, briefly searching the station, How odd. Peter said his goodbye's and quickly followed his friends onto the train.

"I'll miss you." Said Mavis, giving her mother a hug.

"Don't forget to behave and remind Peter to actually write to us this year." Her mother replied as the train hooted. "Quickly then, make sure you have all your things!"

Mavis rushed onto the train, calling out a quick "LOVE YOU!". As she searched the train for her friends. She soon found their compartment and she sat next to Alice, who immediately scooped up Pippin and placed him in her lap.
