Rajveer's POV
I sat in my office, the soft hum of the air conditioning the only sound breaking the silence. My mind was still spinning from the conversation I'd had with my family the previous night. Their words about marriage and finding a partner echoed in my mind, but I pushed those thoughts aside for now. There was work to be done, and in my world, work always came first.
My thoughts were interrupted by a call from my father. The message was brief but clear: a meeting had been arranged with Abhiveer Singh Rathore, the current head of the Rathore family—a man who was not only a powerful figure in the mafia world but also a family friend. I respected Abhiveer uncle greatly, knowing the history between our families and the legacy we both carried.
As I made my way to the designated meeting place, I couldn't shake the image of Advika from my mind. She was Rathore's daughter, but more than that, she was the woman who had stirred something in me during our dance. Shaking off the distraction, I focused on the task at hand. This was about business, nothing more.
The meeting was set in a private lounge, far from prying eyes. When I entered the room, I immediately spotted Abhiveer uncle sitting at a large oak table. The older man stood up to greet me, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Rajveer," Abhiveer uncle said warmly, extending his hand. "It's been a while. You've grown into a fine young man, just like your father."
I returned the handshake, said with cold yet respectful voice "Mr. Rathore, it's an honor. My grandfather and father speak highly of you. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me."
Abhiveer uncle nodded, gesturing for me to take a seat. "Your family and mine have a long history. It's important we continue that relationship, especially in these uncertain times."
We settled into our seats, and after a few pleasantries, the conversation quickly turned serious.
"I've received some troubling information recently," I began, keeping my voice steady. "It seems that our mutual enemy, Malaik, is becoming more active. His reach is extending into areas that concern us both."
Abhiveer's uncle expression darkened at the mention of Malaik. "Malaik is a snake, Rajveer. He's been trying to destabilize our operations for years. What have you uncovered?"
I leaned forward, my gaze intense. "Malaik's been making moves in the arms trade, expanding his influence in territories that were once securely under your control. My sources indicate that he's trying to form alliances with smaller, rogue groups, offering them protection in exchange for their loyalty."
Abhiveer frowned, processing the information. "He's always been ambitious, but this is bolder than his usual tactics. If he's building an alliance, it means he's planning something bigger. We can't let him gain any more ground."
I nodded in agreement. "I propose we combine our resources to neutralize this threat before it escalates. Our families have always had each other's backs. This should be no different."
Abhiveer considered my words carefully. "You're right. We'll need to act quickly and decisively. I'll have my men gather more intel on Malaik's operations, and we can coordinate our efforts from there. But be cautious, Rajveer. Malaik is unpredictable, and he won't hesitate to strike if he feels cornered."
"I understand," I replied. "I'll keep you informed of any developments on my end as well. Together, we'll ensure Malaik's plans fail."
The conversation continued, with both of us exchanging information and strategies. There was a mutual respect between us, born out of the shared responsibility of protecting our families and our legacies.
