Location: A cozy campfire setting in the middle of an excavation site. The group sits in a circle, the fire crackling softly as night falls around them. The stars above shine brightly, adding a mystical atmosphere to the scene. Tad sits at the center, surrounded by his friends — Ramirez, Victoria, Sara, Ramona, Tiffany Maze, and Anne — all eagerly waiting to hear his story.
Victoria Takes a sip from her coffee mug, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and asked "So, Tad, are you finally going to tell us about how you met this legendary Dagenia? You've been holding out on us."
His wife Sara is Leaning forward, her elbows resting on her knees. "Yeah, Tad. You've told us a lot of wild stories, but this one's gotta be the best."
tad Chuckles softly, poking the fire with a stick.
"Alright, alright. You've twisted my arm. It all started in Mali, during my first solo expedition. I was young, overconfident, and thought I knew everything there was to know about ancient civilizations."
The Flashback begins, showing a younger Tad navigating through a dense jungle, stumbling over roots and swatting away bugs. He looks exhausted but determined, holding a weathered map in his hand.
"I was on the hunt for the lost city of Zerzura, said to be protected by fierce warriors who would stop at nothing to keep outsiders away. I had no idea how real those legends were until I stumbled into a trap."
Tad falls into a pit trap, surrounded by ancient spears and symbols. He tries to climb out, but it's no use. Suddenly, a figure appears above the pit — Dagenia, clad in traditional warrior attire, her eyes fierce yet curious.
"That's when I met her — Dagenia. At first, I thought she was going to finish me off, but instead, she lowered a rope and pulled me out."
Dagenia extends her hand, and Tad hesitantly takes it. She effortlessly pulls him up, and they stand face to face, Tad's eyes wide with both awe and confusion.
"Wait, she just... helped you? Why?" Ramona asked
Tad Smiling at the memory, answered
"She saw something in me, I guess. A stubborn determination she recognized in herself. From that moment, she became my guide, my protector, and... well, my friend."Flashbacks of Tad and Dagenia navigating treacherous terrain, solving puzzles, and fighting off thieves together. Their bond grows stronger with each challenge they overcome.
"Sounds like she was more than just a guide. You two really had something special." Tiffany maze said
"I can't believe you've been holding out on this story, Tad. She sounds incredible." Said Anne
Tad Nods, his expression softening.
"She is. Dagenia taught me that there's more to exploring than just finding treasures. It's about understanding the people who came before us, respecting their legacies. And sometimes, it's about the connections we make along the way."
Tad gazes at the fire, his thoughts lingering on the memories of Dagenia. The group sits in contemplative silence, appreciating the depth of Tad's journey.
His best friend Ramirez Grins and pats Tad on the back."You're full of surprises, Stones. Here's to more adventures and reconnecting with old friends."
Sara Raising her cup Saying "To Dagenia, wherever she is."
The group echoes Sara's toast, clinking their cups and mugs together. Tad smiles warmly, feeling grateful for the friends around him and the memories he cherishes.
"To Dagenia."
"Get this...she was the one who got me the vest..." when he told them, the ladies gasps
"Anyways, our reunion was an adventure."
A bustling African market near the outskirts of a small town. Tad has just arrived, his backpack slung over his shoulder and a determined look on his face. He navigates through the lively crowds, absorbing the vibrant colors, the sounds of merchants haggling, and the fragrant smells of street food.
"I flew all the way to Africa on a hunch. I'd heard whispers about a legendary warrior — one that sounded an awful lot like someone I used to know."
Tad glances around the market, scanning the faces of the vendors and shoppers, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. He sighs, starting to doubt his instincts when suddenly, he catches a glimpse of a figure in the distance — a mysterious woman moving swiftly through the crowd, her silhouette strikingly familiar.Tad goes to find the sources of the noise and sees a hooded figure holding a device that is searching for a relic.
"Hey, pal, I hate to tell you this, but uh...I don't think you're supposed to be here. Yeah, as the rule specifically states; works light closes at six, it's a hard hat area only...That's not official safety orange. If you see anything weird, report it immediately.
The woman, cloaked in a flowing robe that conceals most of her features, moves with an almost ethereal grace.
"Well, I guess I'm gonna have to report yyyyyyyyyy..."
in that moment the hooded figure removes its hood to reveal a beautiful woman Dagenia, tad suddenly gets is frozen on the spot by her beauty.
"Dagenia...? Is that really you?"
His heart skips a beat, and his cheeks flush with a mix of surprise and emotions he hadn't felt in a long time. Dagenia's piercing gaze meets his for just a second, and Tad feels a rush of memories flood back. But before he can say anything, Dagenia's expression shifts — her eyes dart away as if she's seen something, and she abruptly turns and starts running.
"Dagenia! Wait!" He called out, scrambling to push through the crowd.
Tad breaks into a sprint, weaving between people and market stalls, knocking over a few items in his haste. He struggles to keep up as Dagenia moves like the wind, always just out of reach. She turns a corner sharply, disappearing down a narrow alleyway. Tad barrels after her, his heart pounding in his chest.
The alley is filled with twists and turns, and Tad starts to lose sight of Dagenia. He rounds a corner and suddenly the ground beneath him gives way. Tad falls into a hidden pit trap, landing hard on his back. He groans, looking up to see Dagenia's silhouette pausing at the edge of the pit
"Dagenia! It's me, Tad! Please, don't go!"
For a moment, Dagenia stands still, her face partially obscured by shadows. Tad reaches up, his hand outstretched, but Dagenia's expression remains unreadable. Without a word, she turns and continues running, disappearing into the distance.
Tad watches helplessly as Dagenia vanishes, leaving him alone in the trap. He struggles to climb out, grabbing onto roots and loose stones, but each attempt causes him to slide back down. Frustration and worry cloud his thoughts as he realizes he's lost her once again.
"I was so close... I could see her, I could feel it — but just like that, she was gone."
