I stood at the edge of the rooftop, gazing out over the Seoul skyline. My mind was a maze of calculations, always thinking several steps ahead, the city lights blurring together like the fragments of my past. Memories I'd long suppressed began to resurface.
My mind wandered back to the streets of Naples, where I grew up. The smell of freshly baked pizza and the sound of Vespa scooters still lingered in my memory. But it was the pain that had driven me out, the feeling of being an outcast.
I remembered the day I met Luka, how he took me under his wing and taught me to harness my anger. He became my mentor. He found me, when I had lost myself in all those chaos.
But there were still gaps in my memory, moments I couldn't recall. The fire that had ravaged our neighborhood, the screams of those I loved... it was all shrouded in darkness.
A name whispered in my mind, "Hyeji"... a face I'd thought I'd forgotten. But the ache within me lingered, a reminder of the scars, the ones, that made me a stone.
I clenched my fists, forcing the memories back into the depths of my mind. I couldn't afford to be weak, not now, not ever.
I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. This was just the beginning, a game of power and deception. And I was ready to play.
Luka had told me about her - the Italian beauty, our alliance, and his sister by mind- the pawn in our game of power. I'd seen her once, from afar, and knew she was different. A spark within her seemed to defy the darkness that surrounded her. I'd use her to solidify my power, to protect myself from ever being vulnerable again.
My phone buzzed, a message from Luka. "She's ready. It's time to make our move."
I nodded to myself, my eyes narrowing. This was just the beginning. I would marry her, use her as leverage to solidify my position. But as I thought of her, I felt a flicker of something else - curiosity, perhaps, or even fascination.
I pushed the feeling aside, focusing on the task at hand. This was business, after all. I wouldn't let emotions cloud my judgment.
But as I turned to leave, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was about to step into a world of chaos.
As I gazed out at the city, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was running from my demons, not towards my future.

I descended into the mansion's grand ballroom, my eyes scanning the crowd. Luka stood by the window, a glass of whiskey in hand, watching me with an intensity that made my skin prickle.
I was here to make an appearance, to show my face and solidify my position. But my attention was drawn to a figure across the room. A girl with piercing green eyes and raven-black hair. She seemed out of place among the sea of faces, a wildflower in a garden of roses.
