As I stood before the cracked mirror, my gaze fell upon a stranger's face. Eyes once bright with hope now seemed dull, like the gray skies that suffocated me. My thoughts were a jumbled mess, a reflection of the chaos within. The scars on my wrists, a testament to my weakness, seemed to mock me. I felt like a fragile, broken doll, discarded by the world.
Memories of my past lingered, taunting me like a specter. The laughter, the tears, the betrayals - all echoes of a life I couldn't reclaim. My friends, my soulmates, had replaced me, leaving me with a hollow ache. The pain had become a constant companion, a reminder of my insignificance.
Ivanoc Luka, my guardian, my brother in all but blood, had taken me under his wing. His protection and care were a double-edged sword - a comfort and a reminder of my dependence. I longed to break free from this prison of despair, but the shackles of my past held me captive.
As I turned away from the mirror, my eyes fell upon the cityscape outside. The world moved on, indifferent to my suffering. I felt like a ghost, invisible and insignificant. The urge to escape, to flee from this existence, beckoned me. I had tried before, but the pain always pulled me back.
With a heavy heart, I began my daily routine, a mechanical dance to distract myself from the anguish. But the shadows within me stirred, whispering cruel truths - I was unworthy, unlovable, and forever lost.
I'd mastered the art of deception, hiding my turmoil behind a mask of serenity. Luka, remained oblivious to my struggles. He believed I'd found solace in our little world, but the truth was far from it.
I'd heard whispers of my fate, of the man I'd marry - Taehyung. Luka spoke of him with reverence, a powerful figure in the shadows. I knew nothing of Taehyung, except that he was a stranger, a man I'd never met.
As I moved through the mansion, a prisoner of luxury, my thoughts churned with unease. The marriage was a business arrangement, a union to solidify Luka's power. I was a pawn, a mere object to be used.
My heart felt like a heavy burden, weighed down by secrets and pain. I'd learned to silence my screams, to conceal the anguish. But the scars on my wrists told a different story, a testament to the darkness I'd faced.
In the silence of my room, I'd often wonder about Taehyung. What was he like? Would he be cruel or kind? But one thing was certain - I'd never surrender to him, not when I'd fought so hard to survive.
My days blurred together, a haze of emptiness. I went through the motions, attending social events, smiling, and laughing. But beneath the facade, I seethed with resentment. Luka's plans for me suffocated me, a constant reminder of my powerlessness.
As an Italian expatriate living in Korea, I often felt like an outsider, caught between two worlds. Our family's business dealings had brought us here, but my heart remained in Italy, where the sun-kissed hills and crystal-clear waters whispered secrets of a life left behind.
One evening, at a charity gala in Seoul's upscale Gangnam district, I spotted him - Luka's right-hand man, Ryker. His gaze lingered on me, a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. I sensed he knew more about me than he let on.
As the night wore on, I noticed another figure, tall and imposing, standing at the edge of the room. His eyes seemed to bore into my soul, but when I turned to face him, he vanished into the crowd.
A shiver ran down my spine. Who was he? And why did I feel an inexplicable connection to him?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, Luka summoned me to his study. "Taehyung will be arrivingsoon," he announced, his voice dripping with excitement. "Prepareyourself, he's not a man to be trifledwith."
My heart sank, the weight of my fate crushing me. I knew I'd never escape this life, not now, not ever. I'm scared to be betrayed again. I'm scared to fall for anyone. What If they don't like me? What If I'm not good enough? What If I mess up? But no matter what, I can't let anyone see my vulnerability, even if it's Luka. I tried to keep my cool and went back to my room, layed down, starred at the stars through my window and try to keep my mind away from all the chaos coming soon.
The whole night, I stayed wide-awake. I couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. I'd seen him again, the mysterious figure, lurking in the shadows. His eyes seemed to follow me everywhere, even in my dreams.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, I woke up with a severe headache. I tried to shrug it off and focus on my routine, but my mind kept wandering back to him. Who was he? And why did I feel this inexplicable pull towards him?
As I walked through the mansion's gardens, the darkness seemed to close in around me. Suddenly, a hand reached out from the shadows, grasping my arm. I spun around, my heart racing.
It was him. The mysterious figure. His eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body.
"You're in danger," he whispered, his voice low and urgent. "Taehyung isnot what he seems. Be careful."
And with that, he vanished into the night, leaving me with more questions than answers.
