The next day that Diluc woke up, he had a bad feeling
Today was also the day he talks to bennett and tells him the truth
But as he started getting out of bed, Adelinde come bursting through the door with a frantic look in her eyes
Adelinde: "master diluc, mondstadt is under attack"
She said with fear in her voice
Diluc looked at her in shook and guickly put his clothing on
When they ran downstairs, Diluc ran out the Door and in the direction of mondstadt as fast as possible
As he approached Springvale, he started seeing smoke and fire coming from the city
He ran faster then ever before
On his way there were abyss monsters,and a lot of them, he took them all out
As he reached the cate, his first thought was to see if anyone was still in the city
He heard from Adelaide that most of the city was evacuated and that someone was taken hostage.
And that the knights were doing everything in they're power to help the hostage
When he got to where the knights were he saw Kaeya
Diluc ran to him and asked if everyone got out and who the hostage is
What Kaeya said next made his heart stop
Kaeya: "it's bennett and he's not looking good, but we can't get close to him because the abyss herald is hurting him"
Kaeya looked Diluc dead in the eyes and said
Kaeya: "if you have any ideas then speak up or else bennett dies"
What scared Kaeya was not that Diluc didn't say anything , what scared him was the most angriest look in diluc's eyes he has ever seen before, even when they fought that night Diluc didn't look at him like that

Diluc was beyond angry, he didn't care about anything in that moment only saving his son and killing the abyss herald for even considering hurting his boy
With all the strength he had in his body, he took his claymore and used his vision to yeet ((˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵)) himself into the sky
The abyss herald couldn't even register what was happening before Diluc took his life,
With one move that abyss herald was gone
Everyone started cheering but not everyone was happy
Diluc and Kaeya
As Diluc watched the herald Dissapear, he started looking around
When his eyes landed on his son
He ran to him, like the first time he saw bennett again when he returned from his 4 year trip

As Diluc held him in his arms, he started whispering sweet words to his sons ears hoping, praying that he would hear them
As he silently begged the anemo archon to save his son
Kaeya came with some of his men to try and get bennett to the healers
Kaeya had to force Diluc to let go so bennett could get help
After letting them take his son ,diluc broke down, holding onto Kaeya as he sobbed
Kaeya just held his brother until Diluc calmed down enough to go see the process the healers have made
Diluc stayed at Bennett's side every hour of the day, he just wanted to see his happy boy be okay
So he waited, and waited
But finally his patience paid off
On the third day bennett started moving his fingers and by the time it was the afternoon he was awake
Asking what happened and why Diluc cared so much
So diluc started telling the story
And by the end of it bennett understood everything
He was glad that he was found by Diluc and happy that he finally got to meet his dad
