11. It's Getting Hot in Here

I'm so glad it's the weekend and I don't work. I'm going to crash at my mom's in case I have any unexpected visitors. I've already got Emily up to speed so she knows now not to let any guys in. That girl will let anyone in.
My mom is gushing when I arrived. She's acted like I was moving back. "Mom it's only for the weekend."
"I know sweetie, I'm just happy you're here. Even if it's for the weekend. So what do you want to do today? We can go shopping or watch a movie?" She's being extra generous, maybe because she feels guilty over never giving me my letter.
"I don't really feel like being around a lot of people mom. Can we maybe stay in, we can watch movies at home."
"Okay, if that's what you prefer." She sounds disappointed but complies.
"Thanks mom"
We settle in front of the TV. I'm on the large sofa and mom's on the recliner. My mom wanted to watch the Notebook. I didn't really want to watch a lovey dovey movie but it's her favorite. We used to watch it when I lived at home all the time. I decide to make popcorn for us. My cell buzzes, I've got a text. I unlock my cell and see it's a text from Eli.
'You mad at me?'
"Mom, I'm kind of tired. Do you mind if I take a nap first?"
"Sure honey."
"Thanks."
I lay on my bed.
'I'm sorry for freaking you out Car. Can we talk?'
A few minutes later...
'You should turn your read receipts off if you plan to leave me on read.'
'Who said I'm not doing it on purpose.'

I can't help but laugh at his emoji.
My cell rings and it's him.
I don't answer it. I'm mad at him.
'Please answer me'
It rings again.
"What is it Eli?"
"Can I see you?"
"No"
"Please, I rather explain in person."
"No"
"Car at least FaceTime with me. I want to see your face when I tell you."
I switch to FaceTime.
"Hey"
"Explain what that was yesterday?"
"When I left back then I was heart broken to be leaving you and even more when you never called or wrote me. That letter didn't just have my new address Car, it had my confession to you. I know we were young but I loved you. When we kissed in your bedroom for the first time the night before I left I promised myself I would come back to you one day. When I saw you again 10 years later I thought I was over you. I was angry that you never tried contacting me but when you told me your mother never gave you the letter it changed everything. All my anger was gone instantly."
"Eli that was a long time ago. We were kids."
"You're the only person who showed me true kindness. You stood up for me when everyone either bullied me or watched me get bullied and did nothing. You saved me Car. That meant more to me than you know."
"What about Naomi?"
"I told you she broke up with me when I told her I wouldn't stop being your friend or whatever else you needed. When I came back, you looked so sad. I wanted to make you feel better. I used the stupid note as an excuse to talk to you. Let me be here for you the way you were for me."
"I'm not a broken piece of China that you can just glue back to together Eli. Every man I've ever loved left me and my heart broke each time. I will never be that girl again. I'm broken, I'm different now."
"Can I come over?"
"No, I'm at my mom's."
"I'm coming over."
"Eli you can't. What about my mom?"
"Your mom owes me."
He starts walking around his room.
"See you in twenty." He hangs up.
Oh shit, what am I going to tell my mom. I walk out to look for her and she's asleep on the recliner.
'Don't ring the doorbell or knock, my mom's sleeping on the couch. Just text me and I'll open the back door.'
'Okay'
He gets there in 15 minutes, was he flying here. Sheesh. I open the door and he's wearing a green fitted tee with black gym shorts. His hair is semi wet so he must have just showered before coming. I can smell his cologne. We get to my room and I lock the door.
Eli sits on my bed and watches me intently.
"Are we really sneaking around right now? Are you old enough?" He says grinning
I throw a pillow at his head but he catches it. I sit next to him on the bed.
"Are you over your ex?" He asks
"If you had asked me about two weeks ago I probably would have said no but you and Niko have helped me more than you know. You saved me and brought me back to life. That's why I don't want to screw things up with either of you. That's why I told you both that I only want to be friends Eli. Plus a part big part of me is scared to let a guy in again. I don't know if I can take another heartbreak."
Eli reaches over and catches a stray tear that escaped without me even knowing it.
"I promise Car, I won't break your heart. He places his large palm on my cheek like I used to do to him and I lean into it. It is comforting. I close my eyes. He's so close I can feel his breath fan my face.
"Car" he begs me to open my eyes. I do and he leans in and this time he places his forehead to mine and closes his eyes.
"You do something to me." He says
"I hadn't admitted to myself until yesterday Car that I want you" He pulls back a little to see my reaction.
"I want you more than anything." He confesses
Knock knock
"Sweetie I'm heading to my bingo night with the girls. I'll be back around 8."
Eli puts his forehead in the crook of my neck and I can feel his body shaking as he silently laughs at my mom. I pinch him hard on his arm and can't believe what he does next. He pinches my nipple!! I yelp in surprise and I'm about to punch him when my mom chimes in.
"What was that honey."
Eli catches my arm so I don't hurt him and shoves me down on the bed. Then he quickly gets on top of me and puts my arms over my head using one hand only to pin me down. I hate it that he's stronger than me now! He whispers, "Say okay mom."
"Okay mom, see you tonight." I obey
"Don't wait up dear."
"Okay"
I hear her walk away and try to buck Eli off me. That was a mistake because I instantly feel him get hard. I know I must be red while he's acting nonchalant.
"Eli get off me."
"Kiss me."
"What, no. Are you crazy?"
"So you don't feel anything for me then?" He lifts his weight off me. "Fine, I'll leave you alone then. I guess I have my answer." He lets me go and begins to pull away.

I don't know why but I panicked and reach up and kiss him. Our lips barely touch and I fall back on the bed. Eli is shocked at first but then he recovers quickly and he leans in and kisses me. I mean really kisses me. My hands move to his hair. He feels amazing. He starts kissing my neck and then he asks "Can I take this off" lifting my shirt slightly. I nod before I think better about it. He quickly removes my shirt and starts massaging my breast with one hand while his mouth is trailing kisses down my neck. He moves my bra so my breasts are exposed to him and begins sucking. I tug at his shirt and he immediately takes it off. He's looking at me at me and he looks so sexy. I reach up and touch his abs. He feels amazing too. He reaches behind me and expertly removes my bra. Then he places his arm under my back and lifts me effortlessly until I'm further up the bed on my pillow. "Can I?" He asks holding on to my shorts. He quickly unbuttons and removes my shorts and starts rubbing me while kissing me. It feels amazing. I don't know if it's because it's been so long and my body needs a release or if it's that I just feel so comfortable because it's Eli but I can't help it. He is giving me what I need.
My phone starts ringing.
"Shit, don't answer it." He says. I feel like I've been splashed with cold water. Eli must notice because he moves off me to allow me access to my phone. I pick it up and it's Niko. When Eli sees his name on my screen he sits up and walks into the bathroom. I don't answer it. I feel exposed so I cover myself with my blanket.

Eli walks out after a few minutes.
"So what are you going to do then Car?"
I sit up feeling vulnerable so I pull the blanket up with me.
"I don't know Eli. Everything just happened so fast."
"Are you saying you regret it."
"No, I'm saying I need time to think properly. That's all."
Eli picks his shirt up off the floor. "Fine Car, I'll give you time but just don't play games with either of us."
With that he walks out and leaves me. I'm about to start crying when the door opens again.
"Car I'm sorry, I'm being an ass."
The tears start and I'm begin to zone out like each time reality is too much to bear when I feel him lay next to me and pull me to him. His warmth spreads over me.
"I'm sorry Car, I'm not going anywhere."
He's rubbing circles on my back.
"Do you want to get dressed?"
"Yes please."
He gets up and hands me my clothes and helps me with it. Then he lays back down taking me with him.
"Go to sleep."I'll be here when you wake up. I'm sorry."
I fall asleep in his arms.
