“Has the gentleman returned?”
The doorman warmly welcomed the master of the house back.
Lisa, lost in thought, nodded and walked into the courtyard.
People have eyes, but if they don’t look, how can they see? Was she overthinking? Was it her overthinking, or…
She walked through the long corridor, her face solemn, and the young servant behind her didn’t dare make a sound.
The weather was nice this time of year, and as dusk fell, Rosé was supporting the Young Madam for some fresh air. She spotted the gentleman entering the courtyard and was about to speak when she saw Lisa place a finger to her lips, clearly signaling for her to keep quiet and give the Young Madam a surprise.
Rosé was happy to oblige.
Jennie, who was delicate and frail, had been resting for almost a whole day. Now, as she walked, her waist and hips still moved a bit awkwardly. This scene caught Lisa’s eyes, and she nervously bit her lip, cautiously sneaking glances at her Wife.
Everywhere she went, she needed Rosé’s support, looking unmistakably blind. Lisa began to have doubts. Could it really be just a coincidence?
If it wasn’t a coincidence, then what was it? Wife was born blind, and because of this imperfection, the Kim Family had always treated her harshly.
Lisa felt like she was losing her mind.
How could she doubt Jen?
Under the tree, Jennie sat calmly in a chair, a fluffy rabbit on her lap. Lisa looked at the rabbit and remembered that day when she had teased her Wife and then played with the rabbit’s body and ears…
Her mind flashed to the image of Jennie blushing and running off with the rabbit.
The doubts lingered in her mind, unresolved. Lisa tiptoed over.
“Has Husband returned yet?”
Rosé glanced at the person walking over and lied with a straight face, “He probably hasn’t returned yet.”
Jennie, holding the rabbit, stayed silent, clearly thinking about someone.
Jisoo, Irene, and the others quietly left with Rosé, leaving just the couple in the courtyard. The soft footsteps reached Jennie’s ears, and she looked up.
Lisa stood still, holding her breath, eyes fixed on her.
“Who? Who’s there?”
Jennie saw her but wasn’t ready to be completely honest with her yet.
She really can’t see me, can she? The thought struck Lisa as absurd. How could she ever think a blind person might suddenly regain their sight?
