Beep, beep! Beep, beep! Eddie slapped his alarm clock, stopping the irritating noise. He rolled over, but a minute later was interrupted by another blaring noise coming from his clock. Knowing he had no other choice, he groggily stumbled out of bed towards the bathroom to brush and floss his teeth.
He begins to get changed into his neatly placed clothes that Sonia picked out for him last night. As Eddie was changing, Sonia walks in to check he's awake. "Jesus mom!" Eddie shrieks, as he tries to cover up as much skin as possible. "Eddie, I am your mother! I birthed you! I've seen everything already! Do you need me to help you get changed Eddie-bear?" Sonia asks. "No mom! I'm 13 years old, not 5!" Eddie replies bitterly. "Well be quick because your food is going cold!" Sonia leaves, shutting the door behind her.
After Eddie had gotten changed into his polo shirt and tiny shorts, he rushed down the stairs, not wanting to be late for his first day of 8th grade. He enters the kitchen, reaching for a pain a chocolat. "Eddie! What are you doing? I made pancakes, they're blueberry, your favourite!" Sonia reminds him. He sits down at the table, attempting to eat them quickly. "Eddie! Don't eat too fast or you'll get indigestion, and you wouldn't want that now, would you?" She informs him. He looks up at the clock on the wall.
Realising he's running behind, he gets up from the table and goes to put his shoes on, "Eddie-bear where are you going now? You haven't finished your pancakes." "Mom I don't have time, I'm gonna be late to Richie's!" Sonia rolls her eyes, "when did you get so moody." He rushes to the front door, but is abruptly stopped by his mother. "Forgetting something Eddie-bear?" his mother calls, her cheek perched. "Sorry mommy," he replies, as he kisses his mom goodbye, fitting in a 'love you' before opening the door and stepping outside. "I love you Eddie, stay safe, and don't forget to take yo-" Sonia's cut off from the door slamming shut, and Eddie frantically hopping on his bike, cycling to Richie's.

As Eddie approaches the Tozier's house he jumps off the bike dropping it to the ground carelessly, only worried about being late for Rich. He knocks on the door, and a few moments later, a tired Mrs Tozier answers, a cigarette in her mouth. "Hey Mrs Tozier, is Richie ready to go?" "Not sure, let me check," she disappears into the house, and a second later, Richie's name is screamed multiple times.
She returns looking slightly more aggravated. "Do you want to come in whilst you wait? Eat something?" She offers, taking another drag of her cigarette. "Umm that's ok, I can check on him if you want?" "Sure, do whatever," she wanders inside, leaving the door wide open. Eddie enters, the smell of tobacco faintly in the air. For once, Eddie didn't bare any mind to it, only focused on getting to school on time.
Eddie makes his way up the stairs, gently knocking on Richie's door. "Hey Rich, can I come in?" The only reply he receives is deafening silence. Eddie checks his watch, 08:11. Not wasting another second, Eddie barged into Richie's room, stunned at the sight he saw. Richie was sprawled out across his bed, snoring profusely. Eddie grabbed the pillow Richie's head once lay on, smacking it across his face. Richie stirs and wakes up. It is an unusual sight to see Richie without his thick glasses on. "Mom?" Richie questions. "Are you kidding me? No I'm not your fucking mom!" Eddie replies, angrily. "Eddie?" Richie questions once again. "No shit, Sherlock! Get the fuck up! We're supposed to be at school in less than 10 minutes!" Tumbling out of bed, Richie reaches for his clothes. He begins changing, "woahhhh what are you doing?!" "What do you think I'm doing Eds, I ain't got time to chat." Eddie reaches for the door knob leaving, not wanting to invade on Richie's privacy.
Eddie waited for Richie downstairs, constantly checking the time, watching as the minutes ticked by. With 3 minutes to 20 past, Richie stomps down the stairs. Eddie grabs Richie's hand and tugs him towards the front door. "Oi! I need to eat!" "You should've thought about that before you made me late fucknut!" They both raced out the house, hand in hand, breaking apart to grab their bikes and head to school.
