My phone buzzed with a message from Sonia. I picked it up from the bedside table. "Mahab! You ditched us mid-party and vanished like a magician's trick! SPILL THE TEA! (and maybe some Advil for your head, judging by you not answering your phone). More importantly, what happened with Ethan? You were SO close to a kiss before you disappeared! Girl, details are mandatory! Don't leave me hanging!" I rolled my eyes with a fond smile. "Sonia the ever curious."

SMH! Dude I'm fine, alive and kicking💪🏻
Haris came to my rescue.
P.S- I'll provide you with every minute detail. I'll meet you at the grand entrance in a few minutes. COME AND GET ME!" I shot back a quick text to her.

After getting a cool shower that washed the grime of the previous night, I put on my school uniform quickly.

My mother's concerned gaze and stern face regarded me at the breakfast table. I gave her a SORRY FOR MY BEHAVIOUR LOOK.
She reciprocated with a I'LL DEAL WITH YOU LATER FIRST FINISH YOUR BREAKFAST LOOK, and a servant put a plate full of delectable breakfast in front of me.
The sight of food made me realize that I'm famished. I finished it and gave my mother a quick peck on the cheeks to melt her anger and rushed to the entrance of Fazal Palace. I could hear Sonia's car honking.

"Bee! You vanished last night!" Sonia blurted out in a single breath as I slid into the passenger's seat.

"We were all so concerned for you", she kept blabbing. "I literally had tears of joy when you were about to kiss Ethan, but then you didn't, and went MIA. Your phone was off too."

The New Jersey landscape glided by as she drove, a peaceful bright morning against a dark-dark night.

Sonia narrowed her eyes at me for details.

I frowned at her inquisition. "Cut me some slack, Sonia. I gulped down 6 beers in total. I was a mess. Thank God! Haris came to get me." There was something more that I wanted to tell Sonia, that was in the pit of my stomach and wanted to come out.

"You won't believe I was nearly about to get hit by a car. It was a close call, for a moment I surrendered myself to death." My heart still raced thinking about it.

Sonia's mouth widened in disbelief. "And then, someone saved me, as far as I can recall, he was unbelievable, looked like a heavenly being, but then Haris came, and I fell unconscious." Sonia bites her lip like she is contemplating whether to believe me or not, but then she smiles and put her arm around my neck and said, "Look! I've always told you, you're not just an ordinary girl, extraordinary things happen to extraordinary people, and I totally buy it."

"No, Sonia, I too am under confusion. It was all a blur I guess the guy was a part of my fancy, and the cheap beer's work on my overactive brain." I still couldn't shake off the feeling that the stranger was real.

Janet burst into the locker room a sly grin spreading across her face "Bee, you messed up big time last night but no worries, I've got a full proof plan to help you win Ethan over" she said her eyes sparkling with confidence. "Just do exactly as I tell you, and it'll be a done deal" She winked and gave me a thumbs up. "Trust me Bee, this is going to work!" I nodded, swept up in her infectious enthusiasm, and we headed to the classroom together, ready to put her plan into action.

"Okay class! Here is the list of students selected for the play," Mr. Fitzpatrick said in his authoritative voice. Meanwhile, I was doodling rough sketches in my notebook, I had drawn Mr Fitzpatrick with a funny, big nose and scrunched-up face, complete with a fart.
I pass it to Sonia, and she laughed before passing it on to others, who also burst out laughing.

Janet got Portia's role, and screeched with ecstasy, clapping her hands dramatically.

Ethan landed Bassanio's role, Veronica got Nerrisa's, Eric got Gratiano's and so on..
