Namjoon's Perspective
The office was dimly lit, a few streaks of early morning sunlight streaming through the partially drawn blinds, casting long shadows across the polished wooden floor. I leaned back in my leather chair, my fingers interlaced behind my head as I stared out the large glass windows that stretched from floor to ceiling, offering a panoramic view of the bustling city below. It was a sight I had grown accustomed to, one that usually brought a sense of calm. Today, however, there was a tension in the air, a feeling that something was shifting.
A soft knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts. I didn't need to look up to know who it was. The knock was light, almost hesitant-a stark contrast to the assertive personality that usually accompanied it.
"Come in," I said, my voice steady and measured.
The door creaked open, and Jung Hoseok stepped in, his face a mixture of concern and something else-something I couldn't quite place. Hoseok was my closest confidant, the one person who knew the true extent of my plans and the depths to which I was willing to go to see them come to fruition.
"RM," he began, his tone serious, "there's been some news."
I gestured for him to continue, leaning forward in my chair, my attention fully on him now.
"It's about the Lees," Hoseok said, closing the door behind him and walking towards my desk. "They've reached out. It seems they're interested in a meeting."
A slow smile spread across my face, a smile that didn't reach my eyes. This was the moment I had been waiting for, the moment when the first piece of my plan would fall into place. The Lee family was a formidable opponent, but they were predictable. Desperate people always were.
"And what did they say?" I asked, my voice calm, betraying none of the anticipation I felt inside.
"They want to meet with the son of Kim Jaehyun," Hoseok continued, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched my reaction. "They're bringing their daughter. They said they'll make a decision after that."
The smile widened into a smirk. Of course, they would want to assess the situation before committing to anything. They thought they were being cautious, but in reality, they were walking right into my trap.
"Good," I replied, leaning back again. "Set it up. The sooner, the better."
Hoseok nodded, but he didn't move. There was something else, something he wasn't saying.
"What is it?" I prompted, my eyes narrowing slightly.
Hoseok hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I've sent you the picture of the girl-Lee Y/N. She's the one they're bringing to the meeting. She's going to be the pawn in this game."
The words hung in the air, heavy with implication. I nodded, understanding what he was saying. This girl-this
Lee Y/N-was going to be my key to dismantling the Lees from the inside. She was going to be my weapon, my means of exacting revenge for everything they had done to me.
