The barista, who knew them well by now, greeted them with a warm smile and a knowing nod. “Your usual table is ready,” she said, motioning to a corner table near the window.
As they sat down, Jungkook noticed a small note attached to the table with his name written in Taehyung’s elegant handwriting. His heart swelled with anticipation as he carefully unfolded the note and began to read aloud.
“To many more years of love, laughter, and endless coffee dates. Happy Birthday, Kook. Love, Tae.’” Jungkook’s voice softened as he read the last few words, and when he looked up, he found Taehyung watching him with an expression full of love.
“You’re really trying to make me cry today, aren’t you?” Jungkook said, his voice thick with emotion.
Taehyung reached across the table, taking Jungkook’s hand in his own. “No tears allowed today. Only smiles and happiness.”
Jungkook nodded, blinking back the tears that threatened to fall. “You’ve made this day so special, Tae. I don’t know how I’ll ever top this.”
“You don’t have to,” Taehyung replied softly. “All I need is you by my side, Kook. That’s enough for me.”
Jungkook’s heart swelled with affection, and before he could stop himself, he leaned across the table and captured Taehyung’s lips in a tender kiss. It was a kiss filled with all the love and gratitude he felt, a kiss that spoke of promises and dreams for the future.
As they pulled away, Taehyung smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “I guess I’m not the only one stealing kisses today.”
Jungkook laughed, his heart feeling light and full. “I guess not.”
They spent the next hour in the café, sipping their drinks and enjoying each other’s company. They talked about their dreams, their plans for the future, and even the little things that made them happy. It was a conversation that flowed easily, filled with laughter and sweet moments that made the day feel even more special.
At one point, Taehyung leaned in and whispered, “I have one more surprise for you.”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “Another one? Tae, how many surprises do you have up your sleeve?”
Taehyung grinned, his eyes twinkling with excitement. “You’ll see.”
With that, they left the café and headed to their final destination—a small bookstore tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. It was a place they had stumbled upon by accident during one of their many dates, and it had quickly become one of their favorite spots.
As they walked inside, the familiar scent of old books greeted them, and Jungkook couldn’t help but smile. The bookstore was just as he remembered it—cozy and inviting, with shelves lined with books of every genre imaginable.
“I thought we could spend some time here, just like old times,” Taehyung said, his voice soft and full of warmth.
Jungkook nodded, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him. “I’d like that.”
They spent the next hour browsing through the shelves, occasionally pulling out a book to show each other. It was a simple activity, but it was one that brought them closer, reminding them of all the moments they had shared in that very bookstore.
At one point, Taehyung found a book of poetry and began reading aloud, his voice soft and melodic. Jungkook listened intently, his heart swelling with love as he watched Taehyung get lost in the words. It was a beautiful moment, one that made him feel even more connected to the man he loved.
