It was finally time to leave the school, the trio started packing up and headed outside. As Ni-ki, Sunoo, and Jungwon walked home, their chat was easygoing.

"So, Ni-ki," Jungwon asked, "how are your classes going?"

"Some are interesting, some are tough," Ni-ki replied. "Math, in particular, is challenging."

Sunoo nodded, "Yeah, math can be rough. Are you getting any help or studying on your own?"

"I've mostly been on my own," Ni-ki admitted. "I'm considering finding a study group, though."

Jungwon offered, "If you need help, we're here for you. Sometimes studying with others helps."

"Thanks," Ni-ki said. "I might take you up on that."

Sunoo changed the topic, "Found any favorite spots around campus?"

"There's a quiet spot by the library I like," Ni-ki said. "It's a good place to relax."

Jungwon and Sunoo shared their own favorite spots, and the conversation turned reflective.

"Well, this is where I head off," Ni-ki said as they approached his house. "Thanks for walking with me."

"No problem," Jungwon said. "We'll catch up soon. If you need anything, let us know."

"Definitely," Sunoo agreed. "Take care, Ni-ki."

Ni-ki waved goodbye and headed inside, feeling a bit better after their chat...

When Ni-ki got home, the house was as quiet as usual. He hoped for a peaceful evening, but his parents were waiting for him in the living room, their faces etched with annoyance.

"Where have you been?" his mother snapped as soon as he walked in. "You're always out late and never do anything around here!"

Ni-ki winced, knowing what was coming. "I was just hanging out with friends," he said quietly.

"Just hanging out? You think that's an excuse?" his father chimed in, his voice harsh. "You need to start taking responsibility. You're a college student now!"

Ni-ki tried to stay calm, but their words stung. "I'm sorry," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

"Sorry isn't enough!" his mother continued. "You don't understand the sacrifices we've made. You're always so selfish."

Ni-ki felt his chest tighten, and his eyes stung with tears. He didn't argue back. Instead, he nodded and quickly headed to his room, feeling the weight of their disappointment crushing him.

Once in his room, Ni-ki slumped onto his bed and let the tears fall. Just then, the door creaked open, and Konon walked in, her face full of concern. She had come home from school earlier than usual and immediately sensed something was wrong.

"Ni-ki, are you okay?" she asked gently, seeing him cry on the bed.

Ni-ki looked up, his eyes red. "I just... I don't know. They're always so harsh. I can't do anything right."

Konon sat beside him, placing a comforting hand on his back. "It's okay to feel this way. They're tough, but that doesn't mean you have to face everything alone."

Ni-ki sniffled and wiped his eyes. "I just want them to understand, but it feels like nothing I do is good enough."

Konon hugged him tightly. "I understand, and I'm here for you. We'll get through this together, okay? You're doing your best, and that's what matters."
