The man began throwing things rapidly around the room, taking his anger out on everything in sight. A chair came hurdling above my head as I ducked, allowing it to clash against the wall and fall into pieces. Obeying his orders I quickly rushed from the room and navigated myself through the large halls, never feeling so lonely. I soon found a small door with the words above it reading, "High blood youth training." I nodded swiftly, but just as I was about to enter the room a swarm of children exited. I noticed Woody right away, but surprisingly he seemed happy, and not only happy but in a daze. "W-Woody it's me Mary!" I called to him. He gasped as he realized it was me, hugging onto my waist tightly. "Rosemary, what are you doing here?" He called out in surprise, seemingly more mature. "We are going to get out of here once and for all Woody!" I said on the brim of tears. I was so happy to see he was ok, but at my words his happiness seemed to fall. "Oh, Rosemary, I'm so sorry, but I don't desire to leave this place. You see, I have fallen in love with a girl named Piper, s-she's an albino like you, and I promised I would protect her." I had to admit that I was happy for the guy, but I was surprised at his answer. If he could become so happy and have a connection with someone here why couldn't I? Was it possibly because I was too focused on blocking everything out instead of feeling? My self-searching came to a halt as I looked to Woody. "Promise me you'll stay safe here, ok?" I cooed out softly. "I promise." He said, giving one last hug and running off. I watched as the happy boy faded into the distance, leaving me alone again. I was about to leave when suddenly, the waiter from earlier stumbled and fell on top of me. Blush spread across my face as I took in his features up close and personal. He had coffee brown eyes, and curling ringlets just as Azul had, but what was strange is that he looked exactly like him! "I'm so sorry!" He spat out as he stood, dusting himself off and lending a hand to help me up. I took his hand as I listened to his voice softly, realizing that it rolled off his tongue just like Azul's had, and then recalled what Amethyst had said earlier. "Some say that he was one of the few survivors of market incident, but his memories left him after his wounds were healed." It was him, my beloved Azul. Apparently, someone took the liberty of taking him in custody but at a large price. I didn't care if he didn't remember me; I was going to hold him in my arms once more. I hugged onto his form, laying my head on his chest. "Azul..." A sharp look of confusion dared to grimace his face as he gently returned the hug. "Um, have I met you before? How do you know my name?" He questioned out of confusion. My eyes filled with tears a bit as I could feel my chest tighten. The love of my life was here in my arms, his features all the same, just as I used to know, yet he stands here looking upon me as if I was a stranger. "My name is-"I paused for a moment as I smiled sadly, and realized that I wasn't the woman he loved anymore. "My name is Mary." Azul shook his head, seeming even more confused. "I'm sorry, you just reminded me a lot of a woman I once knew, it was silly of me to think so though." I watched as his arms left me and he backed away. "I have to go, my apologies, I am in search of the one I love, Madam Mary." "Oh Azul you fool, can you not see that the one you love is right here?" I whispered to the floor. Azul suddenly turned and laughed, his eyes shining as bright as ever. "I'm sorry Mary, but I don't think you're the one for me. You see, the woman I yearn for, and dream of, is named Margret and she is of a brown blood line." I could feel my heart tear a bit at this, because the only man that ever accepted me for my red blood line was him, it was always him, and now, now it truly feels like I took the bullet that day. "How silly of me to think that I was your love..." I called out through tears. "You were always really too good for me..." I cried out weakly. I knew I couldn't stand this anymore, I knew I couldn't hear more from the one I once loved and always will love. I rushed from the scene, running aimlessly to wherever my legs took me, until I was met with the doors that lead to freedom, to the outside. I didn't care anymore; I was going to run wherever I was meant to be. I thrusted the doors open, the guards making not a single attempt at holding me back anymore. It had been a while since I had been welcomed by the outside world, but it was no longer the same as the last time I had left it. Instead of the wind welcoming me with its embrace, I was met with the cruel attack of thick smoke. I coughed and wheezed as I ran from my emotions, my life, my thoughts, I ran from it all. There was no sun to beam upon the sunflowers that were left drooping with petals fleeing from them completely. The trees were bare and set aflame. Everything that had been beautiful had died here on this horrid Earth that I was now ashamed of being a part of. I suddenly collapsed, coughing endlessly as I tried to regain my strength. Suddenly, a strong arm wrapped around me. I screamed as I expected one of the guards, but was met with a pleasant surprise. "Shh, you are ok now... I promise you." A soft voice spoke as I was turned to face a tall male, a male with gleaming white locks and piercing crimson red eyes. He was clothed in drab, brown attire, with a patch on his breast-pocket that had the number "5" on it. "Nathanial, of sector 5...I-It's my honor sir!" I called in awe. I received a gentle smile from the strong man. He was a leader not a dictator. "Please, I am just like you and don't require praise, unlike that foul beast Roman. I am quite surprised that there is someone out there just like me; I have never met someone who had the same color of eyes as I do." He mused as he looked over me one more time in awe. I giggled slightly, but our meeting was cut short as footsteps were heard approaching. "My apologies, we must be off before they take us out, we are awfully close to that twisted dictator's fortress after all." I just nodded, blushing as much as I could with my pale skin tone. "Hold on tight." Nathanial called out as my form was hoisted from the ground and was held in his strong arms, much similar to the style that a man would hold his bride. I held onto his form, letting him take me to a place into the far unknown. This was a place that would be perfect for starting anew, I was sure of it!
