Neha's POV
I was walking around the garden. It felt nice to be here again. Even though , I know abt the intentions of some of these people, still it is better to live a life with someone you know rather than like an orphan. Yes, you heard that right. I'm an orphan. My parents moved to the city when I was not born. And when they have given birth to me, I was that one child pampered by all since I was the first girl child. But one day, when we were going out for dinner, something happened. Raghul was with me too. He was 8 and I was 5. At that time, we met with an accident. A huge lorry came infront us and dad lost his balance and we hit a tree. The tree was weak and fell right on top. Raghul was holding my hand completely while I saw my parents taking their last breath. They were trying to protect us. Dad was trying to open our door while mom tried to come back to our seat. But it only ignited their pain and I saw them, losing their breath all at once. Luckily, me and Raghul were saved but I could never forget the lifeless eyes of amma and appa staring at me. Telling me, "Neha, you have to fight this world all alone. We will always love you darling." I can never forget that incident. My heart beat quickened with that thought and I started gasping for air. Calm down Neha. It's the past. It's all fine.
?- Madam, are you ok?
I heard a small feminine voice. I looked to my side and saw a girl looking at me worriedly.
?- Do you want water? Wait I'll get it.
She was about to run but I held her wrist and stopped her.
Neha- It's fine. I was just feeling suffocated.
?- Oh ok.
She said in a low voice and looked curiously at my hand which was holding her wrist.
Neha- What happened?
?- Your hand looks far more beautiful and clean than mine.
I furrowed my eyebrows. What's beautiful in comparing hands? What's wrong with her?
Suddenly realising her words, she immediately apologised getting frightened.
?- Oh no, I didnt mean anything bad madam. Really sorry. Very sorry sorry.
She was shivering.
Neha- Chill young girl! I won't bite you.
?- But still it is wrong to talk bad about you madam.
Neha- First of all, you didn't talk bad abt me, you talked bad about yourself. And please don't do that. Never heard of self love?
She looked at me like I spoke in Latin and Greek. She looks innocent tho. I sighed and said
Neha- Self love means accepting yourself, be it your body, your knowledge and your heart. You should start liking yourself. You shouldn't compare yourself with others because you are no less than others. Okay?
?- Then why are we neglected here?
Neha- Huh?
?- You said nobody is less than others, then why people like me are thrown to the back with no access?
That's when I understood her statement. It's the same hierarchy.
Neha- That's because these rich people don't like others overpowering them. That's why.
?- You are also rich, you don't overpower me.
She said innocently. I chuckled at her and said
Neha- In a garden, if 100 flowers are there and 10 are poisonous, it doesn't mean the other 90 are also poisonous.
?- But the poison knows it's own route to make other 90 poisonous.
I laughed at her innocent intelligence. This girl surely knows how to talk and is unaware of her potential.
?- I'm again back talking you! I'm such a stupid girl who can't understand anything. I'm really sorry madam. I'm very very sorry. I'm so sorry madam....
She was on the verge of tears. Somebody give this girl a tissue!
Neha- Calm down okay? There is nothing wrong in speaking with me like this. I'm a talkative girl and I want people around me to speak like this to me. Okay?
She nodded while I rubbed her shoulder to calm her and patted her head. To distract her, I asked
Neha- What's your name?
?- Raagini.
Neha- A very cute name.
Raagini- Thank you.
She said smiling. I smiled back at her.
Raagini- This is all new.
Neha- huh?
She looked down at the ground and said this in a hesitant tone,
Raagini- Nobody talked with me like this from upper caste. You seem very kind. I dont think you belong to the rich society. You patted me and told me it's fine. It's all new and nice. I feel like you are........
Neha- I am?
She hesitated a lil.
Neha- Even if you swear at me, I won't give a shit about it!
Raagini- What's shit?
I smiled at her innocence.Neha- Something that takes place in daily basis.
She made a "O" face.
Neha- Now tell me.
Raagini- Umm.. you know.... when you patted my head, I felt like you give me akka feeling. I dont have parents so I dont know all this and this is the first time I'm speaking so much. I feel like... I dont know.
So we both share the same boat but her's met with a huge storm. Living a life as person neglected from the society, without anyone to support, it sure is as hard as passing a storm.
Neha- If you think I'm your akka (elder sis), then call me that itself.
Raagini- Oh no no no no! Ayya will throw me out if he comes to know about it.
Neha- Uncle is not a bad man.
Raagini- I know but still....
She said while fidgeting with the end of her daavani (half saree)
Neha- Okay, take your time to call me your akka. Okay?
She nodded. I smiled and went inside. Raghul passed by and said to me
Raghul- You know you look ugly when you smile.
Neha- Sir, only my smile is ugly, but for you, there is nothing that is not ugly.
I said sarcastically smiling at him. He glared at me and yelled
Raghul- YOU!!!!!!!!
He said and started to chase me. I laughed and ran as fast as I could. What a chaotic way to start! Got a cute lil sis and this!!!HELLO!!!!! HERE IS AN EARLY UPDATE!!!!
