Three weeks later

Everything changed in the Kapadia mansion. Literally.
There were less servants compared to before, yet the house looked much better than it was when servants were present.

All because of a single person.
Who agreed to stay, because she didn't have the courage to go back to her Chachi's place.

She didn't show any emotions, but she was happy that being here she at least didn't receive the hits or demeaning words.

Nobody talks to her, but she was so used to it that it didn't bother her.
She woke up everyday, very early to do all the cleaning and cooking the breakfast.

Then after being done with the breakfast she did the remaining chores till it was snack time.

She prepared snacks and then started with the dinner preparation.

It was a cycle. Get up, work, eat and then sleep. It wasn't something really new considering she had almost the same routine for thirteen years.

Somewhere her heart did pain. Obviously she didn't expect a husband who would be the prince charming of her life or some kind of her knight in shining armor.

But she at least expected her husband to actually consider her as a life partner. She wanted someone who would laugh with her. Someone who would make her feel all emotions that she has forgotten.

Someone who would give her so much comfort that she might have a meltdown in his embrace, yet he would understand her.

Anyway, she didn't hope much. She hasn't cried for nearly six years now, so it wouldn't matter if she doesn't cry till she dies.

Seeing around, she did realize that she is a maid working here because she can escape the abuse from her Chachi. She has no family, no friends, no husband.

People say that you've come alone and you'll die alone, but in between you need someone.

Maybe that someone was never destined for me.
She thought to herself as she finished the dishes after the evening snacks.

She was busy cleaning when suddenly Rati came into the kitchen.

"Hey, listen." She called out.

Chandni turned towards her who looked really happy for some reason.

"My son is coming home today after his business trip. Prepare all his favorites." This was all Rati said, before walking out.

Chandni stood confused, thinking about what might be Reyansh's favorite dishes.

For the first time ever, luck was on her side as the twins came in the kitchen.

"Devika Ma'am." She called out.

Devika turned to look at her sister in law who was currently a maid in their own house.
"Yes?"

"Rati ma'am instructed me to cook Reyansh Sir's favorite food since he is coming back, but she didn't tell me what to cook." Chandni said, looking down.

There was something in all their eyes that even after living with them for three weeks, she was never able to talk to anyone while meeting their eyes.

"Bhai is coming back? Yay!" Devika cheered hugging Devyansh.
