He saw them. Again. He swore he saw a pair of eyes from inside his closet, but he was too afraid to make sure.

Axel hid under his covers, though it didn't help in the slightest to at least make him feel like he had some sort of protection. The glowing, demonic crimson colored eyes slowly inched forward, until they came out of the closet entirely, only to be attached to a figure, a shadow of sorts. It spotted him from under his weak, fluffy barrier and smiled a fiendish smile from ear to ear, as it trudged slowly towards him, laughing at how pathetic he was.

"Leave me alone! Please..." He wailed.

The figure lunged at Axel and he covered his eyes, yelping as he awaited the impact with a shaking body, but nothing came.

He uncovered his eyes...and it was gone.

*~*~*~*~
I woke up the next morning, scared yet excited.

I ran to the bathroom, taking a brisk shower, and decided on a white shirt with black ripped jeans, white Vans and my black fingerless gloves. I started out my door and then stopped, almost forgetting my black beanie, so I quickly grabbed it off my dresser before running downstairs again and making some toast.

"Morning mom. Morning dad."

"Good morning, (Y/N)."

After about a minute, the toast was done. Slathering some jam on it, I poured myself a glass of orange juice to go with it. Breakfast of champions!

I washed my dishes and arranged my hair so just my bangs poked out of my beanie.

"Bye mom! Bye dad!" I smiled.

"Bye, (Y/N)! Have a good day!" My mom advised.

"Don't get into trouble!" my dad called.

"Me, trouble? No, that's not me," I replied with cheerful sarcasm. My parents smiled and waved one last time.

I grabbed my backpack, heading out the door to the bus stop where Saïx was waiting. I called him out and waved. He smiled warmly and hugged me when I came up.

"You woke up late," he teased, ruffling my hair. Well, hat.

"Yeah, yeah." I swatted his hand away, rearranging my beanie again.

As we waited, a boy, looking to be my age, stood next to us, looking incredibly tense. He had fiery red hair and bright green eyes with teardrops tattooed under them. His hair was spiked and brushed back and he wore all black.

'What's up with him? ...It must be his first day too.' I thought, dancing in place from nerves (and the cold).

Before I could say anything to him, the bus arrived and all three of us clambered on. He speed walked to his seat and my brother and I took the empty one next to him.

The bus ride felt short since I had my music. It was about a half hour from the school from our house, so our driver picked up two more people before heading off (finally) to school.

All I can do is hope now, I smiled to myself.

*~*~*~*~
After retrieving our schedules, I parted ways with Saïx, walking up and down the halls somewhat confused; it was a fairly big school. Finally, I dubbed myself completely lost and tried looking for a single human for help. Finally I picked out a single soul at his locker. He had red spiky hair that was brushed back.

How ironic. "Excuse me, uh-"

I tapped his shoulder and he jumped ten feet in the air, still looking very tense. He looked over and only caught sight of the black I was wearing, thinking I was one of them, before quickly turning back around (of course I didn't know any of this at the time).
