"Ghost granny will take you places"

While the mother and daughter were spending the sad seventy two hours hoping for their dear youngest to get well, the said man was having a moderate sized existential crisis.

Taehyung sat on his forelegs, Japanese style, until they were numb. His eyes shut tightly and a single drop of sweat rolled down his right brow. His neatly trimmed hair was stuck to his scalp from excessive sweating. If you went close enough you could hear him murmuring whatever Buddhist scripture he had memorised.

"Look how hard you are trying to act like you can't see me... Don't lie to yourself, great grandchild. Open you eyes to the truth."

Taehyung only knew that if he opened his eyes now, he'd see a headless woman sitting at the foot of the hospital bed, with her head put on her lap, gaunt and dreadful. Her eyes were calm pools of still water staring straight at him.

"Taehyung, I've not been stood up like this, waiting for someone else instead of the other way around, for a long time. After all, who would dare make the empress wait? Do you understand dear?"
No answer. Apparently it was not the imperial era anymore and there was no respect for the royals left in the hearts of the youngsters... Hmmp!
"Okay okay...... I understand. You don't pity this soul trying to make it to the heavens and hells. How long shall I suffer in this place, roaming like a headless fly, quite literally?"

Taehyung wavered a little at the sad voice of his so called great great great grandmother, the empress. He blinked his eyes open, and watched her put her severed head on top of her healed neck, fixing it there, as if to appease Taehyung's sensory eyes a little. Which was actually helpful. Taehyung's mundane brain no longer associated the sad eyed women with a ghost.

"Oh, you've finally looked at me child... Save your ancestor from her pain and free her from the binds of earthen resentments. Show me filial piety."

"You, an empress from ancient Korea, speak British English?"

"...!"

"...?"

The woman resentfully glared at him, before walking away to a corner and crouching down there to weep silently. Okay, so Taehyung couldn't even question her about obvious plot holes? Alright. The glitching ghost looked like she was growing mushroom considering how long she sat there, drawing circles on the ground with her pointers.

"Okay, granny, you secretly used to be a polyglot who liked to learn... foreign languages in her leisure time, I get it..." With the somewhat usable loophole thrown at her, the woman seemed to beam with self righteous light as she bolted to the foot of the hospital bed again, "See, it's not that the eyes were blind, your heart was kept blind..."

Why did the line sound familiar? Wasn't it from a religious scripture he had read a long time ago? However, Taehyung ignored the blatant show of plagiarism and concentrated on the ghost's words, "You already know how much I loved your grandfather. But that bastard stole his kingdom, enslaved the kins and was the reason we had to separate. You need to help me take revenge so I can finally be free."

"Respectfully, I'll have to decline."

"You can't."

"I just did."

The ghost looked crestfallen, staring at her willful descendant, very disappointed. Can you not be so unreasonable....!!!

"Dear-..."
