Maya found herself lost in thought about her interaction with Kaeo, her lips flashed in mind again. The professor's voice, a droning echo about formulas and conceptual ideas, blurred into a low hum as she thought of the interaction. "Female Gaze", she called it. It felt more like the only gaze she ever wanted to have.
"Psst, Maya" she turned to see Roman trying to get her attention. Roman was slowly becoming an acquaintance to Maya, they have shared a few notes, and she's loaned him a pen a few times.Blonde hair, blue eyes with a farmer's tan. He always work khakis for some reason or maybe he only wore khakis on Fridays. She raised her eyebrows as she made eye contact with him. Letting him know that she heard.
"You going to the TRI-Sigma party tonight?" He said as quietly as he could. Guess this is what Kaeo ment.
"Yeah, I'm going with my roommate and a few girls from the team" He smiled looked at the professor then back to Maya.
"Awesome, guess i'll see you there, then" he smiled before going back to copying down the notes from the lecture.

Later that night Maya pulled her bangs back with a few bobby pins, going through her closet she found a sheer navy blouse and some black jeans to wear. She looked around for a bra or bralette in her drawers before finding the perfect one that would add a little more flair to her outfit. After getting dressed, she went to the bathroom to put on some eyeliner and lipstick.
Makeup was never her strong suit, only really wearing it for parties or special occasions. Tracing her lips with her rose gold shade of lipstick, pursing her lips together to spread the pigment. Replacing it back into her bag, she pulled out her black liquid liner. Tracing the top lip of her eye creating a small wing on the end. She threw in her studded cloud earrings as she smoothed her shirt out with a soft exhale.
"Who wants Vodka!" She heard Kaeo's voice chime in with a few others from the common area. Sounded like she got a few other girls from the team to join us. Which wasn't bad in her opinion, the more, the merrier, and it was another way to get closer to her teammates. Maybe if they'd party with her, they'd see she's not what they think. "Kissing coaches ass -haha" she pushed the words from her mind and left her room to join the rest of the team.
"Hey! Freshman come on down and let me hook you up" she held up a bottle of cherry Vodka.
Maya walked through the living room. Teammates chatting and laughing amongst one another as they waited for the party to begin. A semi fogged shot glass of vodka was poured and she took it back. A resound hiss escaping her lips as the she felt the burn hit her throat
"Woo-hoo yea, you want another" Becca asked, finally taking notice that the drinking has started.
Maya wasn't sure if she liked the taste, the burn was enough to deter her away, but she didn't want to chicken out after one drink. She nodded her head, accepting another pour from Keao. Afterward, the rest of the shot glasses were filled someone had connected their phone to Kaeo's Bluetooth speaker and the rhythmic beats of the Black Eyed Peas-lets get it started filled in the silent void.
The ladies started dancing while they held their glasses, Kaeo ran bottle service, taking shots in between. Once nine o'clock hit, the group made their way out the dorms and across the quads towards lower campus to ht the Sigma party. Along their journey, she noticed other groups of people headed in the same direction.
As they approached the sorority house, Maya could hear the music spilling out of the windows and open doors. There were people in small groups talking and holding pink and purple solo cups. Butterflies swarmed in her tummy as they got closer. Her first collage party she the air was musky and heavy due to all the bodies occupying the house.
