The morning sun cast a warm glow over the campus café as Maxwell and Wayne settled into their usual corner. The café buzzed with the usual breakfast chatter, but today, their friends were particularly lively.
Maxwell sipped his coffee, glancing at Wayne with a smirk. “So, ready for another day?”
Wayne, scrolling through his phone, barely looked up. “As ready as I’ll ever be. Anything interesting happening?”
Just then, Isabel and Andrea joined them, their conversation already in full swing. Isabel was animatedly talking while Andrea listened, looking both amused and embarrassed.
“Alam mo, Andrea,” Isabel said, “Rhiannon might be in for a surprise if she finds out about your feelings for Joshua.”
Andrea flushed a deep red. “Isabel, can we not?”
Wayne raised an eyebrow and leaned closer. “What’s this about?”
Isabel took a sip of her coffee and continued, seemingly oblivious to Andrea’s discomfort. “Oh, come on. It’s just funny to think about. Imagine if Rhiannon finds out. What if you end up as her sister-in-law?”
Maxwell chuckled. “Now that would be something. I can already see Rhiannon’s reaction.”
Andrea glared at Isabel. “You’re the worst.”
Isabel just shrugged, clearly enjoying the teasing. “Come on, it’s not like I’m saying anything new. Joshua’s a great guy. It would be interesting if something came out of it.”

Wayne looked at Maxwell, who was now chuckling softly. “So, what do you think, Wayne? If Rhiannon finds out, will she play matchmaker?”
Wayne grinned. “Given how Rhiannon likes to meddle in everyone’s business, it’s entirely possible. She might even start planning the wedding before anyone else knows.”
Andrea buried her face in her hands. “Can we please talk about something else?”
Isabel gave her a sympathetic pat on the back. “Okay, okay. I’ll stop teasing you for now.”
The conversation shifted to lighter topics, but the teasing about Andrea’s feelings for Joshua lingered in the background. Maxwell and Wayne exchanged amused glances, enjoying the playful banter.

As the morning wore on and the café began to empty, Maxwell glanced at his watch. “I guess we should start heading to class soon.”
Wayne nodded, finishing his coffee. “Yeah, we should get going. But before we do, what’s your take on the whole ‘sister-in-law’ situation?”
Maxwell laughed. “Honestly, I think it would be kind of hilarious. But we’ll see if anything comes of it. Rhiannon’s pretty sharp, though. She might catch on faster than we think.”
Wayne agreed, a thoughtful look on his face. “True. And knowing Rhiannon, she’d probably make it into a big deal.”
They stood up, ready to leave, and Andrea, now somewhat recovered from the teasing, joined them. Isabel was still chuckling softly, clearly satisfied with her morning’s work.
As they walked towards their respective classes, the teasing and light-hearted conversation continued, weaving through their interactions. The idea of Rhiannon potentially finding out and the possibility of a new family dynamic added a layer of excitement to their otherwise routine day.
The morning had started with playful banter, but it also hinted at deeper connections and the complexities of relationships that lay beneath the surface. With the day ahead, there were more moments and stories waiting to unfold, and each step they took carried the potential for new developments in their intertwined lives.
