The more they chatted, the more they craved each other's presence.

It was as if their days weren't complete without hearing from one another. The conversations became a routine they both secretly cherished.

But with each passing day, something shifted. The familiar comfort of friendship was slowly giving way to something else—something both exciting and terrifying.

One evening, after a long day, she sent him a message with her usual playful tone.

"Miss mo na ko?" she teased, knowing he would probably just laugh it off.

Sure enough, his reply was a simple "haha" reaction to her message. But behind that reaction, he felt more than he let on.

Later that night, as they were chatting about their favorite songs, he decided to drop a hint.

"Hey, can you send me a VM of 'You and Me' by Lifehouse? I really like that song."

"Sure," she replied, not thinking much of it. A few moments later, he received her voice message, her soft voice singing the lyrics with a warmth that made him smile.

When the message ended, he typed back, "Your voice is really calming, you know that? I could fall asleep to it."

There was a pause before she replied, her tone playful but with a hint of something more. "Are you saying I'm boring?"

"No, no," he quickly clarified. "It's just... your voice is soothing. Makes everything feel... peaceful."

She smiled at his words, feeling a flutter in her chest. She didn't say it, but the truth was, she liked the idea of him finding comfort in her voice.

As time went on, moments like these became more frequent. Little hints, small compliments—both were careful not to cross the line, yet both couldn't help but feel the shift between them.

The familiar comfort of their friendship was slowly giving way to something deeper, something they were both hesitant to fully acknowledge.

He felt it first, the change in his heart. He couldn't ignore the way his stomach fluttered when she laughed or the way his day brightened just seeing her name pop up on his phone.

He realized, with a mixture of joy and fear, that he was falling for her. Gathering his courage, he decided to tell her how he felt, hoping against hope that she felt the same way.
