It had already been 2 days since I tried to reach out to V, she still hasn't responded—not that I expected her to. It was currently Friday, 4:30 pm and we were just about to finish practice. Geno has been so hard on us all day that all I wanted was a night out with the girls.
"Hey Paige! Me and the girls are planning to go out later, wanna come?"
Perfect timing.
I turn around and see Aubrey standing there waiting for my response. "Yeah sure, i'll be there. Just send me the details." I say to Aubrey as she nods. I decided to stay a few more minutes after everyone left to keep on practicing for our game tomorrow. The british singer still not leaving my mind. I'll admit, the last time we met wasn't the most ideal goodbye, but it had to be done.
But, I still feel bad for blowing her off like that. I wanted to fix things. After finishing practice, I grab my things and head to my car to start getting ready for tonight.

Just as I was done getting ready, Azzi messages me that they were waiting outside. I grab my things and quickly make my way down the dorm to the Azzi's car. As we make our way to the club, KK speaks up. "Do you guys think Veronica is going to the same club? I heard she was in Connecticut, I saw her story. She said she was going out with her friend."
Caroline responds, "There are a lot of clubs in Connecticut KK, it's impossible that we would be in the same one as her." I blink at the exchange of words between the two. First, she was in America, now she's here? In Connecticut? I slowly smiled thinking about it.
"Is she okay?" KK asks. I snap out of my thoughts. "Huh?" I stare at them cluelessly. "Girl boo, we've been calling your name for the past 5 minutes, then we turn around and see you smiling to yourself. Are you sure you're not on anything?"
Azzi chuckles as she interrupts KK. "Calm down KK. Anyways, we're here now" The car ride to the club was about an hour drive from UConn, but it felt like 5 minutes. Was I too busy thinking about V? As we enter the nightclub, the scent of liquor and the loud music greet me. Just what I needed on a Friday night.
We immediately make our way to the bar and order our drinks. "Oh my god Paige can I take a picture with you?" I turn around and see a Blonde girl right infront of me. "Sure, no problem!" I say and stand beside her. I'm not gonna lie, even under all the bright lights, she was atteactive. "My name is Hana, Hana Swan." The girl introduces herself to me after taking a picture. I pause for a moment, the name sounding super familiar.
My curiosity takes over, "What are you doing here alone?" Surely she came here with someone else. "I'm actually here to support my best friend! I'm pretty sure you know her, you called her overrated." She laughs at me. It hits me suddenly, Hana, and her bestfriend. "Oh my god Veronica is here!" I hear Nika scream in excitement. I turn to look at my side, I see a blue-eyed brunette standing there. She was in the same club as me. I freeze, good thing she didn't see me.
"Paige, are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost" Hana's voice disrupts me from my thoughts. "Oh—yes, sorry I was thinking about something." I try playing it cool. Trying to hide the fact that I am panicking inside. "Well Hana, I've got to go, my friends are probably looking for me now. It was nice meeting you!" I tell the British girl. She returns the greeting and makes her way to the VIP section. I walk back to the girls.
"Paige! Bro we've been looking everywhere for you, where have you been?" Aubrey asks me. "I just saw my ex and I don't know how to feel." Everybody looks back at me, "Who, Sam?" Nika asks. "No, Veronica."
"What— girlypop we don't know a Veronica." KK responds. "Veronica Moore, damn it!" Suddenly, the girls' confused demeanor turned into shock and horror. Jaws dropped everywhere. "What the fuck?" Nika says. Oh boy, this was gonna be a long night.

"So, what you're telling us is, you used to go out with the Veronica Moore?" Aubrey asks slowly trying to understand the situation. I had told them about what happened a few years back with a certain British blue-eyed brunette.
"Well, kind of? I mean I did say that it was just a casual fling." I say as I take another sip of my Dirty Shirley. Everyone was now seated down on the couch drinking from their respective beverage trying to absorb all of the information that I had just bombarded them with. "Oh my god Paige you are one stupid asshole." Jana says as she puts her face in the palm of her hands.
"How do you fumble so hard? Veronica's literally one of the sweetest people i've ever seen." Aaliyah says, not making it any better. "Okay! I get it I messed up! What I did was wrong, I know! Now that she's back, I want to fix it." I put my hands up as Ines, Jana, and Ice sigh. "I just don't know how to approach her." I admit.
"Well, you've already ruined your first impression, calling her overrated and shit." Nika says as she slaps the back of my head. "Ow! What the fuck?!" I start to get annoyed. Nika smiles back at me sarcastically. "I don't know about you, but girl, she's here and this might be the only chance you'll get to be able to talk to her again. So don't waste it." KK tells me.
Just as I was about to get up from my seat, I hear her voice. "Hey everyone! My name is Veronica Moore. Today, I will be performing one of my new unreleased songs from my upcoming album!" She was standing in the middle of the stage, giving everyone the brightest smile ever.
"This song is for girls who are in a complicated relationship."
This was gonna be a long night.
