"PAIGE BEING THE NUMBER ONE COLLEGE ATHLETE RIGHT NOW, how does it feel?" A reporter asks. I smile to myself "Well it's an honor to be given that title. I know i've worked hard to get to this position right now. So expect me to give you the best I have." I say confidently as I look at the camera.
The reporter continues to ask several questions. After a few minutes, the interview finishes and they start interviewing Azzi. While they do that, I go back to practicing my shots.
It had been a few more minutes and they were interviewing KK, I overheard the reporter asking her who her current favorite artist was. "I would say it would be Veronica Moore, she just makes the most amazing songs. I'm so excited for her tour next year, I've already bought tickets" Just as I was about to shoot a three I heard her name—Veronica is back? I accidentally say out loud. Everybody looks at me, "What was that Paige?" Coach Geno asks me.
"Nothing, sorry" I tell him. I can't believe she's back. I haven't seen her in so long. Our goodbye was.. something. I may or may not have left her heartbroken the last time we saw each other. Not letting myself get distracted, I continue to practice until everyone was done and was ready to go back to the dorm.

At the dorms
"Okay so boom we back!" KK says as she sets up the live. We decided to go live on tiktok since we had nothing to do anyways. Me, Inês, Ice and Aubrey were sitting down on the bed while KK, Azzi, and Kayla were standing up trying to entertain the live. I was on my phone scrolling through tiktok videos to pass my boredom.

"What do you guys feel about Veronica Mo— Oh girlboo i'm so ready for her concert" KK replies not continuing the comment. "I love Veronica so much she's a literal angel from heaven. Her songs are god's kiss" Kayla adds. I laugh at what Kayla says. KK looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Whatchu laughin' at girlypop?" The freshman asks me. Oh shoot, I didn't think my laugh was that loud. "Honestly I don't get the hype about her. Her songs are so basic. Transparent soul was the only good thing she sang. She's literally a one hit wonder" I say. Aubrey looks at me like she had just been offended. And Ice side eyes me looking offended as well.
"You can't be serious?" Azzi asks me in disbelief. "There's just better music out there" I shrug trying to move on from the topic. They drop it and continue on with the live, though the comments are going crazy because of what I said. The live goes on for another hour as they talk about the weirdest things. They end the live at around 10 PM and start to get ready for bed. As I mind my own business, Aubrey asks me "What personal vendetta do you have against Veronica to say that she's not all that?"
I raise my shoulders, "Nothing, her songs just aren't that good" I reply to her. "Well you must be deaf because her songs are so good." She says. I ignore her and try to go to sleep.
