Back on track.

Birds chirped, the leaves dropped down from trees.. it was calm.

For now at least.

Sounds of faint humming was heard in the far distance. The blue blur was at it again.
He walked down the path, hands behind his back as the pink rascal's headband was still ontop of his messy quills.

"Hm.. I gotta say.. this atmosphere is pleasant. Wouldn't you agree, dear?"

He looked over to his accomplice, smiling smugly with a half-lidded gaze.

".. huh-? Oh! You're talking to me..?"

Shadow looked over to him, surprised that Sonic would even attempt to talk to him.

"Of course.. who else would I be talking to?"

".. yeah.. it is."

After Shadow responded with those three words, Sonic chuckled softly. Staring at him silently before looking back infront of himself.

"Tails should be here soon.. I wonder what's taking him so long.."

Sonic stopped for a moment, adjusting the headband.

"Probably going through bad weather.."

Shadow muttered in a worried voice.

"Hm.. probably. Hope he comes back with the tornado being perfect as usual."

Shadow looked over to Sonic with a disappointed look, but he expected that. I mean-.. Sonic is an entirely different person now. Why would it be surprising?

After fifteen minutes of waiting for the dear fox to arrive, Sonic sighed.

"Gee.. where is h-"

Sounds of a propeller spinning was heard in the sky.

"Ah.. there he is."

Tails finally landed in a clear space, looking down at the two.

"SORRY FOR THE DELAY!"

He shouted out in a worried voice.

"it's alright.. now, get Shadow to the hideout, will you?"

Sonic soon pulled out his Piko Piko hammer, which totally always belonged to him. Totally.

".. whaaaat are you gonna do..?"

Shadow looked over to him, curiously.

"Oh nothiiinggg darling.. just-.. uhm.."

Sonic thought for a moment.

"Just gonna get you a gift when I come back to the hideout."

He chuckled in a nervous tone.

Shadow, not believing him, nodded. He didn't want the blue blur to get offended.

"Okay."

Tails looked down at them, eyeing them.

"You two gonna stop flirting or..?"

He spoke out, breaking the awkward silence. Making Shadow to snap back into reality as he carefully climbed into the Tornado, and soon after, Tails flew off.

"Phew-.. nearly got caught there."

Sonic chuckled to himself as he continued to walk, dragging the Piko Piko hammer across the ground.

[ Also, lil fun fact: the Piko Piko hammer weighs the same as an aero plane. ]

Little Timeskip to a few minutes later..

Sonic was now found to be in Angle Island, and who lived there? Oh! Knuckles, Knuckles The Echidna.

Sonic looked around, standing on the Master Emerald's podium. Thing.

"Where is this darn echidna at..?"

Sonic muttered, then getting a glimpse. Of what? Of Knuckles you dipshi

"Oh!"

Sonic giggled slyly, then dashing over to where the echidna was last seen.

"HELLOOOOO!"

He shown up uninvited, interrupted Knuckles as he was seen sorting out emerald shards that he found.

"what the fu-.. er.. hi?"

Knuckles looked over to him.

".. Why are you surprised?"

Sonic asked.

"huh-? Why wouldn't I be surprised? You literally shown up uninvited."

"Wouldn't it be obvious? I'm going after the strong ones first.. then slowly to the weak ones.."

".. what do you mean?"

Knuckles was swept off his feet, falling back. And howwww..? Sonic used the shaft of the hammer to do so.

"I'm going to kill you, darling.. that's what I mean."

He pointing the hammer at the echidna, chuckling softly.
