Y/N woke up to Gen leaning over her head, "Morning, took you long enough to get up." She winced, did she really sleep in today? Kohaku was snoring soundly next to her, curled in a ball.

Gen pulled her up "C'mon get up Senku needs your help!" he whisper-screamed, careful not to wake anyone else up.

Confused, she asked, "with what?" it was pitch black outside, meaning she didn't sleep in at all, Y/N could even see the bright stars outside, it was definitely 1 am in the morning. Why in the holy freaking hell was Gen waking her up in the middle night!?

Gen dragged her outside, "He needs help with the Sprengel Pump blueprints, and he needs you to do the headlights and switches." Whaaaaaaaaaaat. Why me though? Welp tough luck.

Y/N shrugged, "Alright, I'll go, you don't have to drag me there, you know." she stood upright as Gen let go of her sleeve.

"Well, after I bring you there I'm definitely going to sleep..." Gen said letting out a yawn. Hypocrite. Y/n rolled her eyes, a lot was on her mind right now, especially how she was going to deal with Tsukasa, what happened a few nights ago with Senku was the least of her worries. Although she wondered if he actually told anyone... Gen outstretched his hand and patted her messy hair, "Hey, you look worried..."

Frick this mentalist, how can he see through me so easily? She grumbled, collapsing his hand off her head. "I'm not THAT easy to read, right?" looking at his grinning face.

'Well, the cracks are showing." He said lifting his hands behind his head as Y/N glared at him.

"Hmmm. Well thanks, that was very good for my self-esteem... mentalist." The two were getting close to chrome and Senku's hut.

"No, no... Y/N... I mean literally..." Gen said, his voice dragging out into the night as he pointed to his neck.

She felt a tang of annoyance as her hand reached around her neck, the scar shaped crack crawling up her spine. Nevertheless, it didn't matter. It might not be pretty but the crack wasn't ugly either, so Y/N generally didn't care... Although to her it felt better if she hid it under her scarf.

Gen watched as her uneasiness melted away. He nodded towards Y/N, "we're here now! Hope you don't work too hard!"

Y/N stared at her joyful friend, "Oh fuck you, you're not even doing anything." She grumbled as she walked into the hut, lifting the curtain/door thing.

"You're late, we have work to do." His cold irritating voice rang through the air, the very opposite of a greeting.

He was quite annoying at times, "Well thanks for addressing me so properly, I hope I'm not too late to this 1-am meeting?" Her hands crossed as she stared blankly at the spring onion, holding multiple pieces of paper. She stormed past Chrome tossing and turning in his sheets, "I don't what authority you hold here but at least tell me prior?!" She whispered angrily at him.

Senku stepped back in astonishment, his face still momentarily blank, maybe I was too harsh.

"Well, we're making light bulbs next. So I'm making you do the blueprints and I'll get the copper wires ready. Also It's only 5-am." Y/N sighed, maybe she was too used to getting up later than usual... And for some weird reason she was always in a mood when he was around...

He handed her the papers as she took it gracefully, muttering a small, "Thanks." Reaching for a pencil she slumped onto the ground leaning on the wall, laying out the papers, she started drawing the vacuum pump and the ingredients for the lightbulbs.

Senku stepped back in the hut, holding some samples of the copper wires connecting to a switch as well as the shell of some headlights. All that was left was the blueprints. Oh right Y/N did that, let's see if she really was that senior. Y/N was slumped against the wall, scribbling on pieces of ripped paper. Actually, why was it ripped in the first place? She felt more like a child than that diligent person that Mr Avue described her as.

Well, it almost looked like she was half dead. He walked over, her mouth was open letting out light snores. He outstretched his hand to tap her shoulder, when Senku noticed a jagged scar running up her collarbone and around her neck. Yet her scarf was nowhere to be found.

Instead he leaned over to see what she had written. Her hands clasped softly on a sketch of the room, and immediately Senku could feel an urge of annoyance growing though him. Maybe he had thought wrong, what if she was just a talented artist? Mr Avue, you were incorrect about this girl, she just knows a few science facts, no way she could ever rival me. He mustn't have been very quiet because Y/N jerked up quickly.

"Watching me sleep aren't you? How perverted." This swift remark sent him into flames, this... Bitch. But her expression changed, "Nah, I'm kidding. Here's my work by the way." She picked up the turned over blueprints on the ground and handed it to him.

"Why did you change up the design for the Hickman pump?" He patted her head as Y/N turned to look at the overlooking spring onion.

Pointing at the sheet, she explained, "It feels quite excessive the design so I simplified it so it would work the same way as it usually does but easier to make." she pointed to her draft, it was much more sufficient and would work the same way, Y/N altered it so it would be easier to glass-blow.

Senku eyes faltered, there was nothing wrong with the way she set it out... It might actually work... But One lingering thought was left in his head that morning. Did Tsukasa really break Y/N out Or was there a specific way petrification worked with A goal? She may prove more useful than I thought.
