Heather was a hostel dweller, she used to stay with her friends. There was no point of being alone in any corner, afterall she spent whole day with her mates. One day she was in her room doing with her laptop, well it was 2:38 of the morning her roomies deep in sleep. She was distracted by a shadow that seemed to be peeking in from the window to the corridor. She shrugged it off thinking it would be some of her batchmates. When again she felt someone peeking in from the corner of window. She opened the door and leaned to see, no one, corridor was empty with darkness. She closed the door and as she turned to her bed, she found her laptop on the floor, she ran and took it up.
Thank God! It was alright.
She thought it was happening because of lack of sleep. She was tired, she slid into her blanket turning off her laptop. After a while she was disturbed by the light coming from nowhere but her laptop. She was startled, she looked on the screen,
"I'll sleep by your side."
She was petrified, as she moved her legs she felt someone's grazing over her feet and a whisper reached her ears.
"I'll sleep by your side."
Before she could think a dark huge figure appeared that flung onto her, pushing her into the bed. She sunk into the bed with a thud and fell into a dim abandoned room. But it was soon filled with screams, whispers, and devil laughs. She covered her ears pressing her palms against her ears tightly when she felt a hot liquid dripping down her palms, blood, her ears were bleeding. She cried, when her watery tears turned into bloody tears stream, her mouth started bleeding, her tongue slashed with an unknown thing. This is now when everything went numb and blank for her. She couldn't hear, couldn't see and couldn't speak anymore. The pain was immense that she couldn't bear and fell on the floor, when she got her senses, she realised someone was holding her. She turned, it was her, another Heather whose eyes sockets were empty, her slashed tongue was smeared in blood , her ears bled heavily.
She screamed, and woke up.
Her roomies consoling her, she was scared terribly. They made her believe that it was her nightmare. She checked her laptop there were no such messages. The next day she was crossing the road on her way to supermarket, when a truck hit her. She was admitted to the hospital, her parents were called up. Doctors informed them that the brain had stopped getting information from her ears and eyes. She was now blind and deaf, even her vocal chord was damaged due to which she lost her voice. She cried in silence, she believed as if her nightmare was true somehow. That night, while she was asleep in her hospital bed, she was held tightly by someone next to her on bed. She froze, it was her and she said,
"I'll sleep by your side."
