Chapter 2: The Road to Adventure
The morning of the move was the kind of crisp, clear day that felt full of possibilities. You woke up before the sun, too excited to sleep any longer, and immediately threw on your favorite *Gravity Falls* hoodie—faded and worn, but full of good memories. Today was the day. You were finally heading to Oregon, the home of pine trees, mysteries, and, most importantly, *Gravity Falls*.
By the time your parents were ready, you'd already double-checked that you had your most important belongings—your journals, your sketchbook, and your recently acquired *Book of Bill*. Everything else was stuffed haphazardly into boxes, ready to be unpacked whenever. But those were the essentials. The ride itself was like the prelude to the greatest adventure of your life, and you were determined to enjoy every second of it.
As soon as you hopped into the backseat of the car, you started vibrating with excitement. Like, literally bouncing on the seat, unable to sit still. Your parents exchanged a look of mild concern as they buckled themselves in.
"Y/N, you doing okay back there?" your mom asked, turning around to give you one of those concerned mom looks.
"Okay? I'm amazing! This is the best day of my life!" you declared, flashing her a grin that probably looked borderline maniacal.
Your dad laughed as he started the car. "We figured you'd be excited, but this is something else. You're not going to burn out before we even get to Oregon, are you?"
"Burn out? Me? Pfft, never!" you said, still practically bouncing on the seat.
Your parents chuckled, clearly relieved that you weren't throwing a tantrum about the move.
Most kids your age would have probably staged a dramatic protest, maybe even tied themselves to a tree or something to avoid leaving their hometown. But not you. You were the opposite. If anything, you'd tie yourself to the car to make sure you got to Oregon as fast as possible.
"Hey, it's nice to see you so excited, but try to relax a little, okay?" your mom suggested, though her tone was light.
You just smiled and pulled out the *Book of Bill* from your bag, flipping it open to a random page. The book was packed with all sorts of strange symbols, codes, and cryptic messages, and you were determined to decode every single one of them. Even if it took the entire car ride.
As you scanned through the pages, you couldn't help but notice a strange red triangle that kept appearing in the book's margins. You squinted at it, tilting your head. Did that triangle have a hat? You blinked, and for a split second, you swore you saw a tiny cartoonish top hat perched on the triangle. You shook your head, rubbing your eyes. You were probably just seeing things.
It wouldn't be the first time a late night spent on *thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com* had messed with your perception.
Deciding not to dwell on the possibly hat-wearing triangle, you turned your attention to doodling in your sketchbook. Drawing had always been your thing, and lately, you'd been perfecting your own renditions of various *Gravity Falls* characters. Today, though, you were in a playful mood, so you decided to draw Bill Cipher as a potato chip. You smirked at the idea, sketching out a triangle-shaped chip with Bill's single, glaring eye and signature bowtie.
