The sky is glommed, a sudden rain,
Joyce and I huddled close, to shield the pain,
With one lab coat to share between,
But then you came, a sight serene.Umbrella in hand, you offered your care,
A gesture so simple, but none could compare,
“Why no umbrella?” you said,
“I didn’t know, its going to rain” I softly replied.We walked together, the ramp sloped down,
I tugged your sleeve, a slight frown,
“Carlos, wait, it’s slippery here,”
You guided me close, calm and near.With every step, my heart would race,
In the rain’s embrace, I found my place,
Did you sleep? I asked with concern,
You smiled and spoke, as we took each turn.Puddles we dodged, people we passed,
Each moment with you, I wished would last,
At the hospital gate, I fumbled with haste,
Pens scattered, life in chaotic waste.“I’m sorry,” I said, with a sheepish grin,
You knelt to help, the rain soaking in,
“My life is chaotic,”and you laughed with ease,
But in your eyes, I found my peace.We crossed the street, and I thanked you twice,
You waved goodbye, your voice so nice,
As I walked home, my heart aglow,
In love once more, with you, I know.Joy on my lips, a song in my soul,
“I’m going home with a smile,”,
For in that rain, in that simple stroll,
I fell in love, my heart swooned...
