—"Heh sorry Kane! Didn't mean to startle you." Sero said removing his hand off my shoulder.
"Shit.. no you're fine. I just didn't realize you were there.." I mumble out in response. "Well.. I never really got to know you y'know?"
"Yeah.. what about it?"
"Well i would like to get to know you Kane" Sero smile somehow grew wider. My feathers ruffle in response before i spoke again. "I'm nothing special you know."
"I doubt that Kane. It's not every day you see a half wolf half bird person"
"I mean.. yeah but besides that i'm not really interesting.."
"Well.. I don't believe you but even if you really are just a boring wolf-bird i'd still like to know you better." Sero spoke before nudging me to grab a tray.
—I grab a tray and then stare at Sero. Why does he want to know me? I'm nothing special. Does he want something from me? Why me? I'm not even good looking? My thoughts ran before Sero turned and looked at me and spoke, "Let's go get a table and then we can get to know each other more okay?". I nod in response before following Sero to a table that Mina had claimed. I sat down across from Mina and Sero sat next to me. Soon after the rest of the group sat down around the table.
—I couldn't help but notice Mina's excitement.
"Are you good mina?"
"Yep! Just excited to have a new friend!"
"Especially a pretty one!" Denki exclaimed
"Yeah! She is really pretty Kami!" Mina agreed
"Oh thanks.." I mumble.
"I think she looks like a wannabe goth girl" Bakugou grumbles as he shoved a mouth full of food into his mouth.
"Hey be nice man! She looks good like that."
Sero protested.
—I sat watching the interaction as i ate. The conversation slowly drifted from the original conversation to a more tame one. The group was talking about their apprenticeships and their favorite heroes. Kirishima turn towards me, "Do you have an apprenticeship?" I look up from my food.
"Not yet"
"Do you have anyone you want to go to?"
"Hawks"
"Hawks? That's kinda a big ask.. you probably won't be able to Kane.."
"Mhm.." I knew the chances of me getting an apprenticeship with Hawks were very slim but i could still have some hope for him. After all who would decline a wolf-bird?
"Why would you even want the number 3 hero anyway?" Bakugou said staring at me.
"I like Hawks and i figured it would be good to apply some place where they have the same quirk."
I explained. They all seemed to find my reason acceptable to some extent.
"You think there is a wolf hero somewhere?" Sero asked
"I've never seen one nor heard of one." I spoke
"You could be the first Kane!" Mina exclaimed.
