As the initial shock begins to fade, the five of us find ourselves sitting in the room, the weight of the moment settling around us. The silence is thick with unspoken questions, confusion, and the lingering disbelief that I’m really here, alive and breathing, after so long.
I take a deep breath, knowing that I need to tell them everything. There’s no more hiding, no more secrets. They deserve to know the truth, especially after everything that’s happened.
“I need to tell you something,” I begin, my voice trembling slightly as I look at each of them in turn—Rebekah, Kol, Finn, and Elijah. “Something that I couldn’t tell you before… something that I didn’t fully understand myself until it was too late.”
Rebekah shifts closer to me, her eyes still glistening with unshed tears. “What is it, Bonnie? You can tell us anything.”
I nod, drawing strength from her words. “I’m not… I’m not originally from your timeline,” I confess, the words feeling strange yet freeing as they leave my lips. “I was born in a different time, in this time,10th march 1992. When I first came to your time, it was by accident—a spell gone wrong. I was sent back… a thousand years before my time, before the world I knew.”
The room falls eerily silent as they absorb what I’ve just told them. Their expressions range from confusion to shock, but none of them interrupt, letting me continue.
“When I met all of you, I… I didn’t know if I could ever go back. But then, somehow, I became part of your world. I found myself caring for all of you more than I ever thought possible.” My voice softens as I look down, a small, sad smile on my lips. “And then I died. I thought that was the end, that I had failed… that I had lost everything.”
Kol, always the one to inject humor into any situation, lets out a low whistle. “Well, that’s quite the story, darling. Time travel? Different timelines? You certainly know how to make an entrance.”
Rebekah smacks him lightly on the arm, but even she can’t suppress the small smile that tugs at her lips. “Hush, Kol. Let her finish.”
I take another deep breath, steadying myself. “When I died, it wasn’t the end. For you, it’s been a thousand years… but for me, it was only a few seconds of darkness. And then, I woke up… back in my time.”
Their eyes widen in surprise, and I can see the questions forming on their lips, but I press on, knowing I need to get this out before I lose my nerve.
“But there’s more,” I say, my voice trembling as I reach for my stomach, my hand resting protectively over the small bump that, while not visible, is still very much there. “The baby… the baby is still okay.”
Rebekah gasps, her hands flying to her mouth as tears spring to her eyes once more. “Bonnie… are you sure? The baby’s okay?”
I nod, my heart swelling with emotion as I meet her gaze. “Yes, Beks. Somehow, the baby survived. I don’t know how, but… our baby is still here.”
Elijah’s expression softens, a mix of relief and awe flickering across his features. “That’s… that’s incredible, Bonnie. Truly incredible.”
Kol, who had been leaning against the wall with a look of disbelief on his face, finally breaks the silence. “So, let me get this straight. You’re from a different timeline, you were sent back to our time, you died, and now you’re back… with a baby?”
I nod, offering him a small, weary smile. “Pretty much.”
He lets out a low chuckle, shaking his head in amazement. “Well, you’ve certainly had an interesting life, haven’t you?”
