Thankfully, I found my second class by myself. It was geometry. I took a seat all the way at the back. I looked in my bag, getting out my pencil case.
That's when I realized, I didn't have my stuff kitty with me. I dug into my backpack more, rummaging through my bag. I checked each pocket, hoping I had forgotten it in one of them. But I didn't find my stuff kitty.
I was close to having a mental breakdown.
Mason enters the classroom and calls out my name, "Jade." He says as he holds out my stuff kitty.
I stood up and rushed over to Mason taking my stuff animal out of his hand. I hugged it tightly.
"You left it on the table last period." Mason says before walking next to my chair and sitting down.
I slowly nodded, "Thank you...?" It came out more like a question.
"Welcome," he says.
I walked back to my chair, still hugging my stuff animal. Other people sat at our table. It was four in total at our table, counting me.
Class finally started, and the teacher began to talk. "Grab the warm up in the front of the class and we'll go over it in a few minutes."
"I'll grab us the papers," the girl at our table says.
"Thanks piper," Mason says.
Mason is nice. He returned kitty back from me. Fluffy, cute, kitty.
"You just hope he goes over the warm up." Piper says as she grabs the paper.
"He always goes over the warm up piper." The guy says at our table.
Piper rolled her eyes, "True." She sets down the papers on the table.
I set down kitty on the table. I grabbed my pencil and did the problems quickly so I could get back to kitty. Once I was done, I set down my pencil and hugged kitty again.
"What the fuuuuckkk," the guy says out loud, looking at my paper. "Do you guys see that shit?"
"Wait, wait, let me borrow your paper right quick." Piper says, taking it before I could say anything.
Piper's eyes widened as she glanced over by paper. "Oh my god, it doesn't even look like you struggled too." She says before turning around to Mason and the other guy.
"Dude, I think she got everything right." The guy says in disbelief.
"I'm definitely copying from you," Piper says, setting the paper down. She started to write down on her own paper.
"No, I don't want to get in trouble." I protested. "Don't copy."
Piper rolled her eyes, "It's not like the teacher actually cares. In fact, he wants us to show each other's work." She smirked.
I feel frustrated now. I looked away and focused on my stuffed animal. Soon after, Piper returned my warm up paper but I was still frustrated.
"Are you okay...?" Mason asked.
I didn't answer. I just hugged my kitty tighter.
"They didn't actually write the answers down— they were just joking." Mason spoke up again.
"Oh." I whispered.
"We actually— ow!"
"You guys was joking, right?" Mason asked the two.
"Yeah, yeah, we were." Piper says, smiling. "Sorry, that was kinda mean. Say sorry Nathan."
"Sorry," Nathan says.
