The box bottom was crimson red. A disgusting shade. The puddle spread fast. The copper weird smell it touched her nose. Her stomach lunched, and her eyes teared up. Kit stumbled back and landed on her ass. She shrieked a shrill sound. Her sister came running out in a night gown. She came to Kit. She looked where Kit pointed. "Zio... Zio w what is in t that box?" Zio held Kit close she dialed up the sheriff. He finally agreed to come out after Zio explained. Three different times about the box. The police came on, and the officer threw up. The others looked especially pale. The sheriff came up to the house. He held his hat in his hands, and he wrung it tight. "Girls, umm.. Your Grand... Before he could finish, Kit had to be held back she was restricted. "No! Grandma, please! No no no Grandma it's not true! Stop it she just got lost! Check the woods! Please, that's not her! Stop lying, Grandma! Grandma, it's me, it's Kit! I am sorry I left! Grandma, please stop playing!" Kit dropped to her knees, her eyes filled with tears. Everything was blurry. She couldn't even breathe. Kit fell to the ground. The corners of her eyes darkened. The soothing soft lullaby started to sound on the wind. Winding around Kit. Finally, her body softened she felt ever so tired her grandma held her on her lap. Singing as the other spirit appeared again, adding another soft voice. "Mom?" The words slipped out of her mouth. She passed out slipping into a dream. Her Grandma sat with her mom, and the soft giggles broke the silence. The first time not seeing the goulish sad face she always wore. Her grandma finally looked crazed. She started to run to them, tears stinging her eyes. "Mom! Grandma, she reached out. She ran full speed. As fast as she could. But nothing changed. They were so far. Kit sobbed ran sobbed. Finally, she reached a place like the medow she sat with Paul. Soft hisses brought dark black vines snaking out of this dark mist. It crawled up, and her body wrapped her up. Soft whispers at her eats started. Beware, it's dangerous! Beware, he is a curse! Beware you will Sufffer! The shrill scream hurt Kits ear. She winced. The vine tightened. It wrapped around her thighs, her breast. It held her high in the air to see. A voice whispered to her right. "The unseen predator shall devor your peace." Kits left ear picked up the second harsh voice. " Behind a mask, he hides a great danger," Her grandma's voice behind her. "The knife will come from not a stranger." Her mother voice a soft, sweet voice." The moon will set free the waves of reality. You will find peace only as the moon rises." A dark voice snaked up her neck . " Your ruin will not pass only if the chains break!" The most cold spine freezing voice spoke last."The path is ten and a one." You will never hear the rumors till midnight by one." Kit woke up to a strong hand clutching hers. Paul slept over her hand. "Paul?" Kit whispered. Her sister rushed in the room, tears on her face. "Kit! Oh, thank God!" Her sister hugged her tight. They both sobbed, and both of them looked at Paul. Big wide eyes. He pulled both of their hands to him. The next couple Of months were busy. Paul helped the sisters figure out their house and finances. He helped them while having a back door key. It was practically his anyway. Kit withdrew into herself. Softly humming that lullaby. She barely ate spoke or moved he bathed her fed her and helped her exercise her. Her sister also helped in this time. Kit woke up to laughter and a good smell. She put her feet on the ground, settling on the cold floor. Her two relatives floated by her side, and all three of them. Her grandma, her mom, and her hummed the lullaby. She went into the kitchen. Both Paul and her sister seemed at her. They held hands and kissed. She frozen her body went rigid. "What is this!" She spat out the two smiled at her. "We are in love." Kit gripped her sheets, her face white pale finally reality crashed around her mind. The scream soundless at first. Paul rushed in, grabbing her hand. "KIT, it's ok." His firm loud way brought her down and face to face with him. They locked eyes. He gently took her hand. In his. Softly smiling, he kissed the back of her hand. "Kit, I am here it's ok." Kit nodded, her head tears streaming once more down her face. Grandma was gone, and whoever did it was out there free alive. Her silence turned into quiet rage boiling Up inside her. Whoever did this would pay. There was another reason the townspeople stayed away. Dark magic pulsed around her as visions began to jump out of her shadowy anger. A future scene between her and her sister. She could see anger hatred and jealousy.  The vision wasn't clear but it left quite a headache and bad feeling in her weak because it was her first vision. Her sister rushed in her blood called by the magic used in the air. "Sister, what happened?" Kit looked at her worried sister's face and told her first lie. " I just had a surge of magic. You know me. I am not a good magic user." OK, so part of it was a lie. She has to start figuring out this vision, the magic, and this crazy mystery. Paul felt like an angel, just what she needed. She sat on a chair. Her eyes wonder out the window the night is closing in outside. The sunset kissing the sky goodnight. She sighed where did she even start? Magic wasn't exactly a realistic thing, nor did she know anyone but her grandma and sister.
