Scarlett's Perspective

As the days passed, my reliance on Ethan grew. His presence was a constant source of comfort, and the more time we spent together, the more I began to see him in a different light. It was strange how my perception of him was changing, and I found myself drawn to him in ways I hadn't anticipated.

One evening, we decided to visit "The Rusty Bean," our favorite café. The place was a cozy refuge from the city's chaos, with its mismatched furniture and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. We settled into a corner booth, and the café's warm ambiance provided a welcome distraction.

We talked about everything from our favorite books to the latest movie releases. As I watched Ethan's animated expressions and listened to his insights, I felt a deep sense of appreciation for him. There was something undeniably special about the way he made me feel—safe, understood, and cherished.

"You know," I said, stirring my coffee absentmindedly, "I've been thinking a lot about us lately."

Ethan looked up from his cup, his curiosity piqued. "About us?"

I nodded, feeling a flush on my cheeks. "Yeah. About how much I've come to rely on you. You've been there for me through everything."

Ethan's expression softened, and he reached across the table to take my hand. "I'm always here for you, Scarlett. You're my best friend."

His words sent a flutter of emotions through me.I wasn't sure how to articulate what I was feeling, but it was clear that myfeelings for Ethan were evolving into something more profound.
