The alarm rang, I woke up panting as a result of the catastrophe yesterday but saw that I was already at my hostel.
I cleared my eyes because my vision was a bit blurry then I looked around, I was really at the hostel.
I sat upright looking around, Pink was seated on a stool facing the big mirror wearing her makeup.
When she saw that I was awake, she paused what she was doing and turned a little. With a forced smile on her face,
"Happy Sunday roomie"Then she turned back to face the mirror and continued what she was doing.
"Wh-what happened yesterday?" I asked because my memory was a bit foggy from yesterday.
"Alot" she said then stood up wearing a mini pink handbag, "I'm off to church, you coming?"
"No. I don't go to church"
Seeing her expression, I answered before she could ask,
"it's complicated.""Well then, see you later" she left.
I stood up and went to the mirror to look at my self.
I stared at my self carefully, there was no mark on my neck, it looked perfectly okay.
I was surprised, this was the place Nemus had held me firm and it looked as though nothing had happened.
I was a bit troubled. I kept thinking about what had happened that night after I passed out and who the man was, I can't seem to get the scene off my head.
After much thought, I headed to the bathroom to have my bath.
When I was done, I freshened up and sat down on the blue chair at my reading table.
I pulled out my laptop and began to go through the school news website to see if I could dig out some information about that night but nothing about the night was posted, not even in the schools gist group and it was weird, not a single soul was talking about it,
"Something fishy is going on." I muttered to myself as I stared at my laptop, I can't help but think, who was that man?
The next day at school, everything went on as usual, it was as if nothing had happen on Saturday night.
Lectures went on as usual, nobody was even talking about it.
I found it weird because incidents like this used to be the talk of the town especially among the junior students but all acted as if nothing has happened.
During recess, I went to the court with two lunch pack, one for me and the other for Jesse.
I was indeed really grateful for what he did that night, if not for him, I would have been like him but I was still quite surprised that he stood up for me, someone he couldn't stand.
When I entered the court I was surprised to see that everything was okay, no blood, no disorderliness, the basketball court was well arranged as if nothing had happened there.
I stood in surprise for a minute before I regained myself and went to the players' locker room.
It wasn't filled with players; only a few of them were present, doing some minor workouts.
I spotted Jesse sitting all by himself at one corner and I went over.
"Hey" I called for his attention, and he tilted his head slightly to look at me. He didn't seem happy at all.
With a cold expression, he asked;
"What can I do for ya?""Erm..."
Thinking of what to say, I cleared my throat immediately and said
"I just wanted to thank you for Saturday night" I brought out the lunch pack and showed, "here, I got you lunch""I'm full" he declined and looked away then I signed.
"I know you don't like me but can you at least accept this token of my gratitude, you don't have to be rude about it"
Then he stood up and came towards me
"I said I'm full bitch, why not go pester someone else."He walked past me, using his shoulder to push me out of the way.
I felt embarrassed because it was said loud enough for everyone present to hear.
I just sighed, dropped the lunch pack with his name written boldly on it on the bench he had got up from, sighed softly, and left.
I was about leaving the court when I bumped into Zack who was on his way in.
"Terra!" He called surprised to see me, "you're in school?"
"Yeah, why?" I asked when I noticed his expression.
"You're supposed to be taking treatments" then he leaned over checking my neck.
"I'm fine" I moved back a little.
"Still, I think you should take a break, after everything that had happened, you must be a bit shaken"
"I guess I am, but break isn't what I need right now" I said "but seriously, thanks for your concern" and I left.
After school, I went to the clinic for some checkup to justify why there was no mark on my neck.
"You must be Terra Tunes, right?" The school nurse asked when I got in and I nodded.
Surprised, He looks exactly like the man who intervened in the basketball brawl.
He has blue eyes, fair skin, light brown hair, and a firm build.
It's so surprising, I couldn't take my eyes off him, it was also weird, most schools have female nurses and there was something about him I can't quite get my hands on.
"Stop staring at the old man like that, he's not gonna eat you up" giggled someone from behind.
I turned to see who had said that and it was a very beautiful girl, white in complexion, average in height, she was seated on a sick bay and had a bandage round her waist.
"It's okay Joy, I'm used to it" the nurse said as he showed me a place to sit and he began to examine my neck.
"Hi, the name's Rejoice" she waved "but my friends calls me Joy"
I only stared at her with my eyes wild opened then out of curiosity, I asked
"How are you still alive? I watched Regina killed you"She chuckled,
"I'm a vampire Terra, I can't die, expect you cut off my neck or have a stake through my heart"
Then I turned over to the nurse who held my test results.
"What about you, weren't you the one that stopped the brawl that night? What are you."
He smiled innocently and said with a nice and calming ascent,
"I'm afraid I have no idea of what you speak of"Then I got up, unable to contain my curiosity and said in a loud voice
"I swear it was you, you were holding a long stick that controlled the atmosphere"He looked at Rejoice who stared back at him then he signed and said
"Fine, it was me, I'm doctor Raymond, I'm the magician"I gasped. A magician? Weird!
"So, aren't you going to the basketball court" Joy asked
"Why?"
"They have practice, on Saturday is the competition so everyday after school is practice"
Seriously, I can't believe that after everything that happened that night, they still decided to practice as if nothing had happen.
I signed
"I don't think I'll be able to make it""I suggest you use this medium to rest your head a bit, you look stressed out" Raymond said and handed the results over to me, I took it and exited the clinic.
I think i'm going crazy, he was right, I do need to rest my head for a while, but, I've got this piercing feeling that this is just the beginning.
