The escape

Patrick put his phone in his blazer pocket and grabbed the nearest bag he could find. Mr Jane? Asked Jade. Teresa got up and went to him. Jane, what are you doing? Asked Teresa. Maroon is here and I think he is here to get Jade. We need to leave now, said Patrick.

Teresa looked at Jade. Get the things you need and bring both phones with you. Wait, how are we going to escape? Asked Teresa. The back door. I parked at the back. You know how I get Lisbon, said Patrick. Jade grabbed her things.

Are you ready? Asked Teresa. Yea lets go. I turned my location off and everything so he wouldn't know where I am, said Jade. Have you got your room key? Asked Patrick. It's in the draw by the bedside. Why? Asked Jade. Patrick walked to the bed and opened the draw and took the room key out.

When you and Agent Lisbon go to the car. I will need to speak to the manager about letting us keep the room for a week, said Patrick. A week? Asked Jade. Yes or less than that if we know where Maroon is going next when he finds out that you are not here, said Teresa.

Thank you Mr Jane, said Jade. It's what we do Ms West, said Patrick as he left the lift. You have feelings for Mr Jane don't you? Asked Jade. Teresa looked at Jade in shock. Is it that obvious? Asked Teresa as they got off at level 1 and went to the back door. Jade froze as she stopped.

Jade? Asked Teresa. Jade pointed where she was looking. Teresa turned around and saw the back of a guy that was Jade's age. Teresa looked at Jade. Is that him? Asked Teresa with a silent voice. Yes, said Jade with the same tone of voice. Teresa took Jade to the side.

Good thing he hasn't seen us yet, said Teresa. Don't we need to be down there though, said Jade. Teresa looked and noticed that Maroon was on the phone. Ok now is our chance to get out of here. He's on the phone, said Teresa. Jade nodded and Teresa held her hand and they ran to the back door.

Teresa picked the lock and Jade ran out. Teresa closed the door behind her. Are you ok? Asked Jade. I'm fine. Let's get out of here. Hopefully Jane has spoken to the manager by now, said Teresa as they walked to the car.

With Patrick -

Patrick walked to the front desk. Can I help you sir? Asked Robert. May I speak to the manager. It's important, said Patrick. Of course sir. He should be out in one moment. Please take a seat, said Robert. Ok thank you, said Patrick as he went to the seating area. Patrick checks his phone and sees a text from Kim.

Did you and Lisbon make it out ok?

Lisbon and Ms West are in the car. I need to speak to the manager.

Javier walks to Patrick. Are you Mr Jane? Asked Javier. You must be the manager, said Patrick as he looked at him. Yes. Is there a problem you need to speak to me about Mr Jane? Asked Javier. Can we speak in your office? Asked Patrick. Certainly sir, said Javier as Patrick got up and they walked.

In Javier's office -

Nice office you have here, said Patrick. Thank you Mr Jane. How can I help you? Asked Javier. I am not sure if you have seen the news today, said Patrick. The one about the missing girl? Asked Javier. Yes. Her name was Victoria Williams. Her best friend Jaden West is your guest here. I think she stays here every summer with you? Asked Patrick.

Yes, Ms West is our popular guest here. Is Ms West in trouble Mr Jane? Asked Javier. Hopefully not if you can help us, said Patrick. Of course. Anything for Ms West, said Javier. Patrick looks at Javier and studies him. You know Jade personally don't you, said Patrick. Yes I know her parents. Her father is my childhood best friend. What can I do to help? Asked Javier.

Before I get into that. Did you know Victoria Williams too? Asked Patrick. I suppose the jig is up. Yes I knew Victoria. Jade and Victoria always came to our place during the years. I helped the search party when Victoria went missing. That so-called boyfriend of her's wasn't even worried. He didn't even help, said Javier.

Well about that. Daniel Maroon is here and I think he is here personally for Jade. Now Jade is with us and she is safe but we need her hotel room for the week so Daniel will think that she is staying here when we do get him, said Patrick. That I can do. Anything to keep Jade safe, said Javier.

Thank you and trust me. Jade West is in safe hands and please call me if Daniel keeps coming here, said Patrick as he wrote his number on a paper and gave it to him. Javier took the paper and put in the draw before leaving.

Patrick left the office and went to the car. He had a picture of Daneil Maroon and he saw him at the sitting area- Not even doing anything.

In the car -

So? Asked Teresa as she looked at Patrick. I got it, said Patrick. I knew you would, said Teresa as she believed in Jane. Did you speak to Javier? Asked Jade. I did. He seems to be a nice man. He told me that he is your father's childhood friend, said Patrick. He is. Tori and I would be at his place quite a lot. He has a son named George, said Jade.

We should head back, said Teresa. Patrick nodded and started the car. Jade laid down on the seats just in case Daniel came out of the building.

At the hotel -

Daniel Maroon walks up to the front desk. By now Javier told his team what had been going on and agreed to help. Can I help you sir? Asked Chris. Yes you can. I am here to see Ms Jaden West. Is she here? Asked Daniel. Let me check, said Chris as he typed something in but not any information.

Well? Asked Daniel getting impatient and angry. Ms West is staying with us but she isn't in at the moment. You could try coming in later, said Chris. Daniel rolled his eyes. Well can you let me in the room? Asked Daniel. Ms West would have told us if she was having a visitor but it seems she didn't. Please come back later, said Chris.

Right.... Ok... Thank you, said Daniel as he walked off clenching his fists. That was too close, said Maria. I was so sure he was going to attack me, said Chris. Let's just get back to work, said Teddy. Chris nodded.
