The small folk had grown restless, awaiting news on Vaelys' condition

As soon as the confirmed news of the attack on Vaelys and Jaehaerys reached the streets of King's Landing, The men and women of Flea Bottom, for the first time in a long time, finally had a royal they could look up to. The sacrifice and bravery Vaelys displayed to save her husband's nephew, had changed how the Targaryen's were perceived. And the deep rooted love the people of King's Landing held for Vaelys Targaryen began on that day, and they would continue to sing praises of her long after her death.

"They wish to hear news of the Princess, Your Grace" Lord Jasper Wylde said as Aegon sat in his usual seat at the council table, trying to plot against Rhaenyra when his mind was elsewhere. "She hasn't moved in three days, Lord Jasper and we have yet to come up with any ideas to finish Rhaenyra". "How is Prince Aemond, Your Grace?" Ser Criston Cole questioned the absence of the King's brother, "Aemond has yet to leave her side" he murmured as he rolled the council sphere in his hand.

"my brother will not return unless...until she wakes up."

Aemond hadn't eaten in three days despite the regular meals his mother brought to him. How could he eat when his wife hadn't moved a muscle since she fought to save his nephews life?, fought to survive against a man his half sister had sent when he'd carelessly killed her son?.

"You must eat Aemond, she wouldn't want you to waste away like this" Alicent said worryingly as she replaced yet another dish on the bedside table, "not until she wakes up" he mumbled as he continued to stare at her motionless body, the only signs of life the steady rise and fall of her chest.

Alicent places a concerned kiss against his temple as handmaiden's walk in with buckets of warm water to bathe Vaelys in her bed, Alicent smiled at the girls before leaving the room and closing the door behind her. "Your Grace?" One girl questioned as Aemond took the bucket from her hands, "You may leave, I'll do it". The soft click of the door let Aemond know he was once again alone with his injured wife, and he proceeded to undress and bathe her as if she were made of glass, "look what I've done to you" he whispered as he grazed the cloth underneath her wounded throat.

He redressed her as tears dampened his gauntly face, and pulled the blanket back over her body before sitting back down in the same chair he'd slept in for the past two nights. Aemond cried for a while before his eyes grew heavy from exhaustion.

"Dragonstone?" Vaelys questioned as she noticed a dark red moon illuminating the sky, the scent of ash and sea water engulfing her lungs. A tall, silver-gold short haired man with similar purple eyes to her own, stood powerfully before her, smiling at her confusion as he answered.

"Of course"

"But why?"

"I was born here, my dear" he said proudly as he admired the large stone castle, shadows of his powerful physique displayed against the molten rocky path they were standing on. "Who...are you?" she said, her voice filled with wonder as she admired the strange man.
