Cue the most stereotypical love at first sight scene, where time stops and everything moves in slow motion. Ellis is frozen in place when he sees them. They look so beautiful as the wind breezes through their hair, looking like an angel to Eliis even if they're just going about their buisness. For the first time ever, he's rendered speechless.
While he is still young, Ellis feels like a teenager all over again. He doesn't know what to do. As much as he wants to strike up a conversation, he somewhat doubts himself because they're so beautiful and he might just make a fool of himself.
If he sees them approaching him, he smiles warmly, but he's secretly panicking. Although, that may be more obvious than Ellis wants as he frequently rubs the nape of his neck, or re-adjusts his hat, or perhaps rambles all the while stuggling to look them in their beautiful eyes. It can be made worse if someone like Nick is around to tease him.
It's very easy to fluster Ellis if they so happen to compliment him. He's certainly not used to it. He grins as he thanks them, all the while his face is beet red, but it's cute. He will also return compliments, albeit a bit awkwardly because he's so nervous, but he means them wholeheartedly.
As time goes by of getting to know them, Ellis finds talking to them much easier. He's not so awkward, not like he was in the beginning, however, with the feeling of love still hanging over him he now finds himself giving them longing gazes more so than avoiding their eyes almost completely. They'll probably catch him quickly looking away a few times.
Ellis is much chirpier than before; if that's even possible considering he's chirpy without being in love. He can't help but ramble about this new person to people. It tends to just slip out as he's constantly thinking about them. Rochelle only thinks it's sweet and has a few times told him to confess. Coach rolls his eyes but can't help but smile at the boy. Nick tends to poke fun, and has on many occasions done so in front of said crush of his.
If it's not already obvious, Ellis want to be around them whenever he can. He loves telling his stories to them knowing he won't be shut down, and he loves to hear stories of their own. He's absolutely infatuated and it's visible in the way he's listening and gazing at them with stars in his eyes. In short, Ellis is a big mushy mess when he's in love,
