I keep completely still as the God sits on the edge of the bed. He doesn't take his eyes off me.

It makes me uncomfortable. "Did you undress me?" I ask.

He nods. "I did." "That's an invasion of my privacy." "You're my pet. You have no privacy." He deadpans and that cuts something deep.

"Sit. We need to talk." I shake my head. "We have nothing to talk about other than Mick."

He looks to the ceiling. "I told you she's fine, Serenity." "I want too see her."

"I can't allow that. Not right now." "Why?" He blows out a long breath of air.

"Because..." Another head shake. "I just can't." "But why? How can you keep me from her? She's my-"

"I said sit!" He snarls, violet blue eyes flashing a bright gold.

Despite my impulsiveness, I sit down on the bed. The God sighs, taking a hand through his head.

We sit in silence for a few seconds and then he says, "Eat." I don't reply.

The God's eyes flare with something I can't name. "You need to eat, Serenity."

I don't engage him with a response. "Oh?" He scoffs. "After all this time, you've nothing to say? I know that's not the case considering your reckless mouth. You will answer me."

He doesn't make it sound like a choice. "Yes, Master." I snarl.

He blinks. "Don't call me that." "Well, you're my master, are you not? You bought me."

The God leans forward, somehow closer to me. I hadn't seen him move.

"I'm not that to you. Never that." My heart picks up it's speed, threatening to jump out of my chest.

I itch to trace the curve of his jaw. He's so beautiful.

"Eat." I open my mouth but he cuts me off. "And don't you dare give me some bull shit about not being hungry. I saw you, Serenity. You're so small, so... so pale and lifeless."

I roll my eyes despite myself. "Now, you're just throwing shots." "No." He objects. "I tell you the truth. I want to skin the store owner alive for what he's done to you."

Anger ceases me. "How can you say that? Cenet took good care of me. Of us."

The God pauses. "You're on a first name basis with him?"

Why did that matter? I pull the sheet tighter around me. "Forget it."

"I will not forget it. Why are you on a first name basis with him?" He demands. His voice leaves no room for argument.

"Because he was good to us. Like I told you."

The God looks fed up. "If he was so good, then why are you so skinny? Why do you look so pale? So... fragile?"

Because they put me in a damn cage like an animal!

I keep that too myself. "I gave Mick most of my rations." That was the truth.

She didn't eat them last time, but every other time I'd practically forced it too her.

The God looked at me with... admiration.

My stomach dropped. He shakes his head. "You are far too kind." Reaching up, he gently takes the glass from my hands.

I jerk as our skin touches, sending a current of shock through me. I suddenly feel warm and bubbly.

The God shows no indication that he felt it too.

"Eat, Serenity. We need to talk and you need your strength." I pushed my hair away from my face.
