No longer can I keep my eyes open. I feel them close against my will and despite hearing Ronan beg of me to open them, I can't.

I'd lost too much blood. And what he promised, what I hope would be true, wasn't going to come to pass.

This was it for me. What Mick said all those very months ago was the truth.

We were made to be Vampire food.

That's all I was. Nothing else. I was food to feed Vampire's.

It was my life. My destiny. And no amount of wishing or hoping would change that.

It wouldn't change anything.

So, I don't fight the darkness any longer. I let it take me.

Voices fade in and out of my unconsciousness. "She's unatural." One says.

I can't make it out. I don't know who's it belong to.

"Does it look like I give a fuck? Save her." That voice I know.

It's more metal than caramel this time. But it's beautiful all the same.

I can't place the name with the voice.

"Do you know what you ask of me, Ronan? How can I save a being I know nothing about? Her blood is black."

I become unconscious, losing the conversation.

During that time, I dream of a woman.  A woman who shares my face and has my eyes.

Though, she's more beautiful than I.

She's far more elegant and there's color to her skin. Her hair isn't as dark but just as long.

Maybe longer.

And when she looks at me, she smiles. She smiles a smile of so much warmth and love that I nearly melt with it.

I want to make her proud. I want to do anything in my power to see her again.

She drifts closer to me.

"Then live." She whispers. What?

"Live."

I wake. Though my eyes don't open, I become aware of the conversation around me again.

"... isn't a human Doppelganger." Another unfamiliar voice was saying.

"Then what is it?" Asks another.

"The blood is black. This is an abomination. Ronan has brought an abomination to the Heavens."

I fall asleep against my better will and it's peaceful and easy.

There is no pain in me sleeping.

At some point, my body must catch up with itself and realizes that I can't sleep forever, because I wake again.

And this time, I pry my eyes open despite them feeling like sandpaper.

The first thing I see is unnatural bright light.
