The glare Sidharth and Shehnaaz gave each other was enough to set the whole world on fire. Iravati was now applying medicine on the red bump on Prerna's forehead.
"Akhri baar puch raha hoon. Apni jabaan khol ke bol chhorri, maahri behen ke saath ke hua?", Sidharth roared angrily to get the answer. Prerna had been injured and was limping, he was afraid that something cruel might have occured to his sister. His disturbed thoughts and their silences got the best of out of him, while turning into a beast who would care for none.
Shehnaaz glanced at Prerna, who was nervous and slightly shook her head to deny.
"Mele se laut the waqt, mere bike ka accident ho gaya tha.", Shehnaaz mumbled with a straight expressionless face.
Sidharth turned around to look at his sister who stiffened immediately as she was giving a slight nod to Shehnaaz earlier.
"H..haan bhaiyya.", Prerna confirmed but Sidharth grew suspicious.
"Thakur ke ijjajat ke bina tu uske behen ko raat ke andhere mein chori chupe ke le gayi?", Kalyani pitched in to add fuel into the already enraged Sidharth. Kalyani's existence was already loathed by Shehnaaz so she felt irked by her words. Shehnaaz drew daggers at her.
"Aankhein ke dikha rahi se? Thaari wajah se uski ye halat huyi se.. bhagwan na kare par accident mein agar Prerna ki jaan chali jaati toh?", Kalyani spoke.
"KALYANI!!!", Shehnaaz, Sidharth and Iravati yelled in unison. Kalyani flinched at the yelling.
"Kaisi ashubh baat bole se chhorri. Jabbaan pe kaabu rakh", Iravati scolded. Kalyani found herself getting angry but quickly gathered herself.
"Maaf kar do amma, maaf kar do Thakur.. par manne ke galat bola? Yeh shehar ki chhorri ko na laaj, na sharam, na kisi ki chinta.. par humko apne ghar ki ijjat ki chinta karna jaruri se.. iski harr galati ko maaf karna theek na, Thaakur..", Kalyani instigated.
"Bol chhorri. Tu isko kiski ijjajat se mele le gayi?", Sidharth glared holes into Shehnaaz.
"B..bh..bhaiyya.. main maahri marji se uske ke saath, mele gayi thi..", Prerna spoke to save Shehnaaz from her brother's wrath.
"Dekha Thakur.. thaari behen ib thaare se jabaan chalave se.. iss chhorri ne isko bhi apne jaise bana diya.. kal ko shayad apne nikke nikke kapde pehena degi aur pure gaon mein thaara ijjat nilaam karwa degi..", Kalyani said.
"PRERNA KOI CHOTI BACHCHI NAHI HAI..", Shehnaaz gritted her teeth and spoke with a glare at Kalyani.
"MAAHRE LIYE SE.. MAAHRE LIYE MAAHRI BEHEN MAAHRI BACHCHI SE.. TU HOTI KAUN SE JE MAAHRI BEHEN KO MAAHRE IJJAJAT KE BINA KAHI LE BHI JAAVE?", Sidharth yelled back at Shehnaaz. Kalyani smirked at those words. Kalyani's words didn't make her heart ache but his words hurt. She didn't know the reason why his words were hurting her so much. She stared at him with glossy eyes. Her teary eyes were betraying her mind which compelled her to stand strong.
Sidharth wasn't untouched by her tears. His heart ached equally and he hated this feeling. Why were her eyes making him feel so guilty? Was he wrong here for being a protective brother towards Prerna? Being a sarpanch, he enquired and punished a lot of criminals and wrong doers but he never ever felt like this. This wasn't the right sign. She was distracting and deviating his mind from his own set of principles. He felt so angry and disappointed at himself for having this kind of feeling.
Sidharth stomped towards Shehnaaz's room and grabbed her bags before returning. Iravati was shocked while Kalyani had a victorious smile on her face. Shehnaaz didn't utter a word knowing what was coming her way but Prerna hurriedly limped to him to stop him from throwing Shehnaaz's bag outside.
