Today will be a new day. New beginnings, new middle, and hopefully a better end. My name is Emersyn Mikaelson, better known as a Salvatore. Nobody knows I'm a Mikaelson besides my bio parents, of course, and Damon and Elena. I'm seventeen years old, and today I'm starting at a new school. I kind of got kicked out of Mystic Falls High, for an unfortunate event, but that's a story for later. The Salvatore Boarding School, a school for the supernatural like me. I'm hoping with the resources and freedom I get from here; I can find my father. When I was around three years old, he left. My mother and him were never fully together, but she would allow him over all the time, from what I remember. My mother on the other hand didn't like the fact he stopped showing up, that meant she actually had to care for me. It only lasted two years before she quite literally boxed me up and kicked me out. Thankfully Damon and Elena saw she had left me, while they were on a walk to Carolines house, and they took little five-year-old me in. They make me feel so loved. My mother pretended I was a nobody. I'm just her other daughter's friend. My best friend, Hannah Reed, she's ten months younger than me. She's my sister and doesn't even know it. She is Joshua's, my mother's husband, child. Technically not blood related, but she's still my sister, always and forever will be. I wish I could tell her the truth. She knows I'm a witch just like our mother. It's been almost twelve years since my mother first met Joshua. Nine since Hannah figured out, I was a witch. I hate the fact that the Reed's are known around town as the perfect family, which Carrie knows that she has a whole other daughter.
"Emersyn Rose!" A deep voice yelled at the bottom of the stairs. I groaned, and another yell. "Oh Em! I made your favorite!" I rolled over, leaned up in my bed. "Blueberry Pancakes?" I yelled. "You know it!" I got out of bed, brushed my hair, grabbed most of my belongings. One thing caught my eye, my ring. It was a gold ring with the letter "M" on it. I never leave home without it. It was the last thing I received from my father. At least I would like to think it was from him, hint the "M".
I started walking down the stairs and saw Damon cooking his special vampire pancakes. Apparently, when Aunt Bonnie and him were stuck in this place called the prison world, that's one of the only things that kept him sane. When I made it to the bottom, Elena was getting Stefanie and Grayson ready for school. "Good morning mom, dad, kiddos!" I gave Damon a hug and then walked to Elena and the kids, doing the same. "Em, you all packed?" Damon smirked. "Yes, dad. Is Uncle Ric going to let me come visit when I want to come see you guys and Hannah?" I question as I ate my breakfast. "I mean I am going to miss you guys, especially the pancakes." I laughed, about choked, but washed it down with some chocolate milk. "Ric is my best friend, so he better let my little girl come home." He walked up to me and kissed my forehead, while doing so he spun around and grabbed my fork out of my hands, "my little girl, all grown up. But you need to work on your pancake guarding skills." Elena poked her head around the corner, "Damon, stop eating her pancakes and start getting the car loaded up, please." He grabbed my stuff and headed out the door. "My sweet angel, Lizzie and Josie will be there, so will Hope." Elena grabbed my hands, "I promise we will come see you. Ric said he's fine with you coming home sometimes, just not all the time. But you do know you are always welcomed home whenever you need us, or even just miss us." She let go of my hands and pushed my hair behind my ear, "Go ahead, I love you." I smiled at her, "I love you too, mom." I put my plate up and hugged my younger sibling's good-bye.
"Come give your old man a hug!" Damon hugged me, "I'm going to miss you, my little rose, but I'll see you soon. I promise. I love you; you girls drive safe now."
I got into the car and looked over to Hannah, "Han do you want to drive? I'll drive when you come get me next time. I'm just nervous, if you couldn't tell." She smiled at me, "I don't mind. You're going to be alright. I promise, I'll be the first person you see when you come visit next. Okay?" She leaned over and hugged me. "Let's get going, shall we?" I nodded and we headed off. It was only a twenty-five-minute drive from where we lived. My Uncle Stefan, who I never met, final gift to us supernatural children, from Damon and Caroline, was the school.
