As Rishabh stood close to Anvesha, his eyes locked onto hers, he took a deep breath and, in a tone dripping with sincerity, began his confession.

"Anvesha, I need to say something,"
he started, his voice unusually serious.

"I’ve been trying to find the right moment, but it never seems to come. So, I’m just going to say it." He continues

Anvesha, who had been in the middle of taking a sip of water to avoid rolling her eyes at whatever nonsense he was about to spout, raised an eyebrow. She wasn’t in the mood for any more of his mind games, but something in his tone made her pause.

"Be my girlfriend?,"
Rishabh said, the words coming out like a grand declaration

Anvesha froze, her brain short-circuiting for a split second. Then, before she could stop herself, the water in her mouth sprayed out in a sudden burst, hitting Rishabh square in the face.

The room fell silent, the only sound the faint drip of water falling from his now-soaked face. Anvesha stared at him, her eyes wide, while Rishabh blinked rapidly, trying to process what had just happened.

"Are you kidding me?"
Anvesha finally sputtered, half in disbelief, half in exasperation. "Did you seriously just say that?"

Rishabh wiped his face with the back of his hand, his expression a mix of shock and amusement.

"Well, that wasn’t exactly the reaction I was expecting," he said, his voice dry.

Anvesha burst out laughing, not out of joy, but out of sheer incredulity.

"You—" she gasped, "You thought... I can’t believe you thought that would work!"

Rishabh, now finding humor in the situation, couldn’t help but chuckle. "I was trying to be honest! But clearly, you’re not quite ready for the truth."

"The truth?"
Anvesha repeated, still laughing as she tried to collect herself.

"Rishabh, you and I can barely stand being in the same room together without someone needing a fire extinguisher. It's been only 3 to 4 days since you know me and you think confessing something like that is a good idea?"

Rishabh smirked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Well, it definitely got your attention. Although, next time, maybe aim the water away from my face?"

"Next time?" Anvesha shook her head, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes.

"There won’t be a next time, Rishabh. Whatever game you’re playing, I’m not interested." She said

Rishabh raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the banter.

"Who said it’s a game? Maybe I just like seeing you flustered." He replied

"Oh, please," Anvesha shot back, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"If you’re trying to mess with me, you’ll have to do better than this. That was just... pathetic."

"Pathetic?"
Rishabh feigned offense.
"I’ll have you know, that was one of my best lines!"

"Well, it sucked,"
Anvesha said bluntly, finally catching her breath.
"And if this is your idea of a joke, you’re losing your touch, Rathore."

Rishabh grinned, clearly unfazed.

"You’ll come around, Anvesha. Just wait." He replied

"Keep dreaming,"
she retorted, rolling her eyes.
"But for now, maybe you should focus on drying off. You look like you just got caught in a rainstorm."

"At least it was refreshing,"
Rishabh quipped, running a hand through his wet hair.
"But I’ll admit, this didn’t go exactly as planned."

Anvesha gave him a mocking pat on the shoulder.
"Nice try, though. Better luck next time—if you ever get one."

With that, she turned on her heel and walked away, still shaking her head at the absurdity of the entire encounter. Rishabh watched her go, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Despite the water fiasco, he couldn’t help but enjoy how easily he got under her skin.

As Anvesha walked away from the encounter, her friends immediately noticed the look of smug satisfaction on her face. Sara, always the observant one, leaned in with a curious smirk.

"What’s got you looking so pleased with yourself?"
Sara asked, nudging her as they walked.

Anvesha let out a dry laugh, still shaking her head at the absurdity of it all. "Oh, just another round of Rishabh Rathore’s delusional attempts at… whatever it is he thinks he’s doing."

Malvi raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Let me guess—he tried to charm you again?"

"Charm?"
Anvesha repeated, her voice laced with sarcasm.
"If you can call asking me to be his girlfriend in the middle of a party ‘charming,’ then sure. But really, it was just pathetic."

Ira nearly choked on her drink, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Wait, what? He actually said that?"

"Yup,"
Anvesha confirmed, still amused by the whole situation.
"It was so out of the blue that I ended up spraying water all over his face. Not exactly the romantic response he was hoping for, I’m sure."

The group burst into laughter, the image of Rishabh standing there, soaked and stunned, too funny not to enjoy.

"I have to hand it to him, though,"
Anvesha continued, her tone light but sarcastic.
"He’s persistent, if nothing else. But honestly, he’s wasting his time."

Sara shook her head, still chuckling.
"You have to give him credit for trying, though. Most guys would’ve backed off after the first rejection."

"Yeah, well, most guys have a better sense of when to quit,"
Anvesha shot back. "But not Rishabh. No, he’s got it in his head that he can wear me down or something."

"You’re handling it well, though,"
Malvi said with a grin.
"Not everyone could keep their cool like that in front of the college hunk."

Anvesha shrugged, her expression turning a bit more serious.
"College hunk or whatever..I’m just not interested in playing his games. I’ve got better things to do than babysit his ego."

"But I have to admit,"
Ira chimed in, a mischievous glint in her eye, "it’s kind of fun watching my egoistic brother squirm."

Anvesha smirked, nodding slightly.
"Ask your brother to give up, Ira"
"I suppose there’s some entertainment value in it. But honestly, I’d rather he just took the hint and moved on."

"Good luck with that,"
Sara said, rolling her eyes.

"Rishabh bhai doesn’t seem like the type to give up easily." Ira said

"Yeah, I’ve noticed,"
Anvesha replied dryly.
"But if he keeps this up, he’s going to end up looking more like a stalker than a suitor."

After all, if there was one thing Anvesha prided herself on, it was her ability to stay one step ahead.

And as far as she was concerned, Rishabh Rathore was about to learn that lesson the hard way.

But as she left the party with her friends and family, she knew that this was far from over.

Rishabh might have thought he could catch her off guard, but she was ready for whatever ridiculous game he tried next. After all, if there was one thing she was certain of, it was that she wasn’t about to let him win.
