Chapter 4

The landlord, a chubby middle-aged man, was currently showing Avery the kitchen. "After the previous tenant, we changed all the cabinets in the kitchen. We tried to change the feel of the apartment by lighting the color of the kitchen cabinets." The landlord rambled on and on about what he changed, obviously trying to make sure the apartment appeals to Avery.

This went on for a couple of mins. By four in the evening, Avery was seated in the landlord office, signing his name on the lease. The older man gave the keys to Avery, "Okay, so here are your keys, they were changed last week. And we have an extra copy in case of emergencies or if you lost your copy of the keys."

"Thank you. Have a nice day." Avery said standing by the door.

Now with the contract in hand and keys in the other, Avery could finally take a deep breath in, the band around his chest snapping at the prospect of leaving that forsaken apartment and starting a new.

During the time he was relishing in his thoughts, a slick black Audi R8 parked in one of the building exclusive parking. Avery could feel his breath halt in his throat as the car door opened to the most handsome man he had ever seen in his life. Black hair that could rival the feathers of ravens, slicked back. Eyes that could burn a village with their amber hues. His sharp jaws, chiseled nose, all combined into a human that could easily be made by the hands of Aphrodite.

Avery wasn't the only one that was starring someone up. The man was taking in Avery's beauty. Beauty that Avery himself often undermined, not believing that he is one bit beautiful. The degrading words of his ex plumbed his self-confidence to the floor. However, in his quest of ogling the man a couple of steps away from him, he didn't notice the eyes that were racking up his form.

Avery came back to his senses as the handsome man started walking towards him. "Hello, I'm Henry. This is the first time I see you here." Henry's velvety voice carried between them. Avery could feel flutters in his belly, he doesn't know if these are his nerves or the baby reacting, and honestly he didn't care at the moment. "Um- hello, yeah, I just signed my lease here. I'm Avery."

"Avery. Such a cute name for a beautiful man such as yourself." The man commented. Heat rush to Avery's face as the words registered. "Oh- um- thank you?" The man chuckled at Avery's response, finding the man in front of him absolutely endearing. "You're welcome beautiful." Avery has officially turned into a tomato. Curse this handsome man.

"Please excuse me, but I have to leave."

"Oh go ahead. Hope to see you again, Avery."

"Then -um- goodbye." Avery rushed out. "Bye bye Avery." with wink sent to his way.

Haling down a cab. He gave the driver his address, bucking his seatbelt on, he spared a glance at the window to see the supe- Henry staring straight him with a smile of this handsome face. Waving his hands as the cab drove off with Avery fanning his face that he is sure is red, at least from the heat he feels.

Yup he officially identifies as a tomato.

"Henry, where were you? You said you were parking 10 mins ago." Came a voice from the kitchen.

"Good evening babe." the older said as he closed the front door behind him. Toeing his shoes off and replacing them with his slippers. Trotting through the kitchen to greet its occupants.

"Welcome home" a second voice said from their seat on the island, "I'm home love." Henry smiled, leaning to place a kiss on the younger's cheeks, causing him to release an airy giggle.

"Henie, what took you so long?" The blond said. Henry's eyes lit up at the reminder, "saw a new neighbor downstairs, stayed to say hi." Shrugging his shoulders.

The figure at the stove swiveled around. Their spoon pointed at the older, "They're cute, aren't they!"

A wispier smile graced his face, Henry's eyes gave that lovestruck far-away love, one that was only given to his husbands till now. "Very." His answer was like a secret that was not supposed to be let out into the air.

"Oh, ren, the look is coming out." The blond said through a snicker

"I can see that noie," replied his husband with a knowing smile.

Their husband is down bad. They can only be curious about the person who could make their normally composed husband this gone.
