"I did not think that I would be seeing my Tilda here, a week early" one of the men that had practically raised me in this studio, besides his brother whom was like a uncle to me, and their wives, it had just been Mila, their sister, and Rico. The six of them, had grown up in this same town, and had stayed around long enough, for the following two generations, being my mothers, and now mine.
I was so grateful that they had all stuck around, which made this goodbye even harder. "I've come to say goodbye" I muttered, already feeling the tears gather in my eyes, when I was pulled into his embrace, and lifted off the ground. Marco's brother, Mateo, was currently running a class, meaning that I had some time alone with the one man that had taught me how to walk, spin, jump, and even hit a few tennis balls.
Marco had gotten me into every sport that I would allow him to, and would be by my side when something went wrong, when I wanted to move on, when I wanted to start a new sport, or when I just wanted to sit by and watch the younger kids have the same treatment that I was so lucky to have. He made sure that my injuries were taken care of, and in truth, he was the only person I ever told that I got injured by people that hated me.
I never told him much, but I told him more than I told most, while his wife, Maria, would teach me how to braid my hair or design a dress that was only made for me to wear, and only me. They took care of the physical aspects, while their sister and brother in law, Mila and Rico, took care of my finances and mental wellbeing. Mateo and his wife, Aria, were my moral support crew, as they made sure they were wherever I was. They all were, hence why I had to get this goodbye done first, as it would hurt me for days to come.
"Your brother stopped by, because I demanded that he did, as I had to know that you were going to be in good hands. I told him, to not let you stop dancing and playing tennis for fun. I told him that he has to let you go on runs for miles, but to not let you take it so far you break down from injuries. But, I wanted to give you something special, that I have held onto for years" Marco then turned around, and I couldn't help but laugh at his busyness.
The fact that he had demanded my brother, toppled over the fact that he may have known that there was more family than just me and my mother, which was what I had concluded from Mila's reaction, and if she knew, Marco and Mateo would know. I was sure of it. "Here" I was then handed an entire box, which was bursting at the seams, full of photos, medals, trophies, you name it, the award was in there.
Marco handed it to me, and I just immediately burst into tears, as he then pulled me into a hug, running a soothing hand through my hair. The choked sobs that left my mouth, weren't even brought into my thought process, of knowing that my entire childhood, filled one entire box, because someone had cared to pack it away for me, and make sure that it got to me, through the person that I had accidentally called Dad, before I had settled on him being my Dad.
