30th September 1997

For the past few days, Selene hadn't exchanged a single word with Draco, and his absence was becoming more noticeable. He even missed their latest prefect duties, leaving Ron Weasley, who was one of Gryffindor's prefects, to step in last minute. Selene didn't mind working with Ron, in fact, she found him to be a surprisingly good friend. She'd always had a soft spot for his sense of humour,  a trait he shared with his older brothers, Fred and George. Before they left Hogwarts, Selene had been close to the twins, often getting caught up in their pranks and laughter. She could always count on them to cheer her up.

Meanwhile, Selene had spoken to Roderick a few times and asked if he wanted to sit with her at todays Quidditch match, Slytherins vs Ravenclaws, they seemed to be on good terms again. Roderick did try out for the Slytherin Quidditch team but Draco wasn't lying when he said his skills were awful. However, He had suggested to Selene that they go out on another date, something she was cautiously considering despite the lingering thoughts of Draco that she couldn't quite shake.

At breakfast, Draco seemed completely unbothered, laughing and chatting with the other Slytherin boys as if nothing had happened, focused more on the Quidditch match. Every year Draco manged to become Captain of the Slytherin team, which was no surprise as he caught the snitch at practically every game. Theo and Blaise found out from Pansy about what he did to Selene's date, they both thought it was quite strange and tried to talk to him about it, but Draco just brushed them off. Selene couldn't help but notice how he was back to his usual self, acting as though their recent encounters hadn't rattled him in the slightest. Whenever their paths crossed in the hallways, he either pretended not to see her, his gaze sliding right past as if she were invisible, or he would mutter some rude comment under his breath, just loud enough for her to hear. Selene made a point of ignoring him, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a reaction.

Selene sat in the Slytherin common room, the dim light from the flickering fireplace casting warm shadows on the ancient stone walls. She was hunched over her Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook, quill in hand as she scribbled down notes, her brow furrowed in concentration.

Across from her, Theo was equally engrossed in his own studies, the only sounds between them the soft rustle of parchment and the crackle of the fire.

They had been studying together for the past hour for their upcoming exam, comfortable in the silence, when the light noise of footsteps entered. Selene looked up to see Tracey walk in. dressed in her Slytherin robes, but her hair was perfectly styled and her make up different than usual. She looked radiant, a nervous excitement in her eyes as she scanned the room.

"Do I look good?" Tracey asked, her voice tinged with a hint of anxiety as she approached Selene.

Selene arched an eyebrow, immediately sensing that something was up. "You look great, Trace. Why? What's the occasion?"

Tracey hesitated, a small smile playing on her lips. "Well...I've been seeing someone, and I'm meeting him now." Theo looked up from his textbook

Selene's eyes widened with delight. "Tracey! That's amazing" She leaned forward "Who is it? Tell me everything!"

But Tracey just laughed softly "I swear I will, but later. I have to get going, I'm already running late."  She quickly grabbed her coat, throwing it over her shoulders. "Wish me luck!"

"Good luck!" they both said

As the door closed behind Tracey, Selene turned back to her notes, but something made her pause. She glanced up at Theo and noticed the subtle change in his expression, his gaze fixed on the spot where Tracey had just stood.
