It wasn't easy for Eléonore to let go of her child, even if it was for a short moment, or what should be only a few weeks at most. But when everything went into motion, she couldn't do anything but let go. She knew that she wouldn't be able to hold onto Guillaume, there were so many factors that made it so she would be unable to.

The police came, took her parents away, waited, picked her up. She had had just a few hours to contact someone to take care of her child while she was in their custody.

Then she was accompanied to the door by one of the officers.

Margot was picked up, and all five made their way to the police station. One child, two young women, and two police officers.

While Margot talked to them, Ellie talked to her child.

"Tu te souviens de Margot?" She asked him.

"M'a donné bonbon!" He exclaimed joyfully, remembering the candy that she had dropped in his hands while at the park a few weeks prior.

"Margot va prendre soin de toi pendant quelque temps." She tried to explain to her child. "Maman a besoin de parler avec la police pour longtemps, donc Margot sera avec toi."

"Comme père fait?"

Oh, how it broke her heart. "Oui." It was the truth, it would be like when her father took care of the boy. Maman wouldn't be there, but he would see things, be read books, and be given his meals. All without maman. "Mais ce sera mieux, et plus longtemps. Tu seras avec Margot toute la journée, et tu dormiras chez elle."

Guillaume nodded solemnly, fiddling with the toys of the waiting room. I was silent, safe for them and the officer at the front desk quietly filing papers.

"Et Appa?"

"What do you mean Appa?"

"Maman say Guillaume stay Margot, so Guillaume stay Appa." Ellie did not remember telling him that, but she had promised so many things in his ears when his fears would take over. These murmurs in the dead of the night were more pleas for herself that promises to her child. She should have known he would hear them. "I want stay Appa." At first it was a declaration on his part. But as a second passed, Guillaume started to decompose right in front of her. He let go of the gale, sat himself down right then and there, not on the small stool for kids his age, and looked at his mother with big watery eyes. He repeated himself. "I want stay Appa." Pleading with his wide green eyes, tears streaming down his face before she even had time to take him into her arms to pick him up. He nuzzled his snotty face to her shoulder, repeated mumbles of his pela reaching her ears. "I want stay Appa." Which slowly morphed into "I want Appa." to just his object of desire "Appa~".

He loosely gripped at his top as he cried himself to sleep.

It was a lot. It was a lot for her, and it was too much for him. So much movement, so much change, so so much. He was tired, he was overwhelmed. No one blamed her, nor him, for the noise that exited the child for tens of minutes.
