Ebony's heart was pounding as she stared at her phone. After the whirlwind of events over the last couple of days, the idea of actually meeting Malachi Barton seemed unreal. Yet, here she was, walking into the coffee shop where they had agreed to meet.

The place was cozy, with dim lighting and the smell of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. It was the kind of spot where you could easily lose track of time, chatting for hours over lattes. Ebony spotted Malachi immediately, sitting at a corner table, casually scrolling through his phone. He looked up just as she approached, a smile spreading across his face.

"Hey, Ebony," he greeted her, standing up to give her a quick, friendly hug. "Glad you could make it."

"Wouldn't miss it," Ebony replied, her nerves calming slightly as she returned his smile. "This place is super chill."

"Yeah, it's one of my favorite spots," Malachi said as they sat down. "I figured it would be a good place to hang out without getting mobbed, you know?"

Ebony nodded, feeling more at ease. "Yeah, definitely. It's nice to just relax."

They spent the next few minutes chatting about random things—school, TikTok trends, and their favorite coffee drinks. Malachi was easy to talk to, his laid-back vibe helping to smooth over any awkwardness. They laughed over some of the crazier DMs they had both received and talked about their latest projects.

"So, have you decided what we're going to do for our TikTok collab?" Malachi asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

"I have a few ideas," Ebony said, leaning in a little closer. "But I'm open to suggestions."

Malachi grinned. "Oh, I have plenty of those. We'll make something epic."

Their conversation flowed effortlessly, with playful banter and teasing remarks. Ebony found herself feeling more comfortable with each passing minute, the initial nervousness melting away as they bonded over shared interests.

After a while, they decided to take a break from talking and ordered their drinks. While they waited, Malachi pulled out his phone and snapped an 0.5 of Ebony, sipping her coffee.

"Hey! What was that for?" Ebony protested, though she was still smiling.

Malachi just grinned. "You looked like you were having fun. Besides, I need something to post on my Instagram later."

"Oh, so that's how it is?" Ebony teased, pulling out her own phone. "Two can play at that game."

She quickly snapped a picture of Malachi, catching him off guard. He was drinking his hot chocolate because he's a big man baby, and whip cream, was all on his upper list.

"You're too much," Malachi laughed, shaking his head. "Let me see that picture."

They spent the next few minutes comparing their photos, joking about who took the better shot. In the end, they each posted their pictures on Instagram,

As their drinks arrived, they continued to chat, the conversation taking on a more personal tone. They talked about their experiences in the entertainment industry, the pressures of social media, and how they both dealt with the constant scrutiny.

"It's crazy, you know?" Malachi said, taking a sip of his coffee. "People think they know you because of what they see online, but there's so much more to it."

Ebony nodded, understanding exactly what he meant. "Yeah, it can be tough. But it's also cool that we get to share our passions with so many people."

"True," Malachi agreed. "And meeting people like you makes it all worth it."

Ebony felt her cheeks heat up at his words, but she played it cool. "You're not so bad yourself, Barton."

They both laughed, the flirty vibe between them unmistakable. The rest of their time at the coffee shop passed by in a blur of laughter, stories, and the kind of witty banter that felt effortless.

When it was time to leave, neither of them wanted the day to end. As they walked out of the coffee shop, Malachi turned to Ebony, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"So, what's next?" he asked. "I'm not ready to say goodbye just yet."

Ebony grinned, feeling the same way. "Well, I heard there's this cool spot nearby with an awesome view. How about we check it out?"

"Lead the way," Malachi said, falling into step beside her.

As they walked together, Ebony couldn't help but feel like this was the start of something special. Whether it was just a friendship or something more, she didn't know. But one thing was certain—she was excited to find out.
