"You are part of my existence, part of myself. You have been in every line I have ever read."
~Charles Dickens

Mahenoor's pov

Hearing his words, Her cheeks were flushed with a mix of shyness and she thought, "Allah allah.. Ek toh In aur inki batein dono hi meri samjh se bahar hai." (Him and his words, both things are beyond my understanding.)

Saad bhai and Alisha were teasing both of us, when suddenly our parents approached us with a big grin on their faces. Seeing them teasing us, Mama and Baba scolded them firmly, putting an end to the playful banter. "Kyu pareshan kar rahe ho mere bacho ko?" (Why are you annoying my children?)

"Hum toh kuch nahi kar rahe!" (We're not doing anything!) I chuckled as I watched Saad bhai claiming innocence and Him shooting his friend a glare, everyone burst into laughter. I couldn't help but smile as well.

As the laughter and fun subsided, Maa sarkar spoke up, "Alright, that's enough of the laughter and games now. Let's get started with the ring ceremony." With a determined look in their eyes, Mama and Maa approached with the rings. They handed me one of the rings, I took it silently. He extended his hand for the ring, I slowly slipped it on his finger, not meeting his eyes. Despite my attempt to avoid looking at him, I could feel his gaze upon me, intense and unwavering.

As Maa handed him the ring, He extended his hand towards me to make me His. I found myself meeting his gaze reluctantly, then quickly averting my eyes, feeling a strange mixture of emotions. Even though he had no feelings for me, and possibly would never develop any, I couldn't deny the butterflies fluttering in my stomach.

I extended my hand, trying to ignore the confusing feelings that were stirring within me.

He slipped the ring onto my finger, just then everybody around us began to clap and shower us with blessings. Everyone seemed to be caught up in the excitement of the moment, and my heart raced as I tried to process the whirlwind of emotions coursing through me.

The weight of the ring on my finger suddenly made it all too real. My thoughts raced as the realization hit me like a wave. "Am I engaged now?" I wondered aloud, the magnitude of what had just happened sinking in.

He approached me closely, and my breath caught in my chest. All the guests present there were watching us intently, their eyes fixed on our every move. He spoke softly against my ear, his words sending shivers down my spine. "Yes, Princess we're engaged now!" he whispered. "Aaj se aap hamesha ke liye meri ho gayi hain, ab aap par sirf mera haq hoga!"

(From today you are mine forever, now only I have the right over you!)

My head swam with confusion his words echoed in my mind. I couldn't believe what he was saying, especially with everyone around us witnessing this scene and whispering amongst themselves. I was completely taken aback, my thoughts a whirlwind of uncertainty.
