The week went by quickly. Hoseok and Huimang had decided to take the weekend and spend it with Seokjin. Seokjin loved Huimang with everything he had. Huimang was a carbon copy of his sister, and every moment he spent with him felt like a blast from the past. Reliving every memory that he and his sister made when they were younger.
"Jinnie is going to meet us there Huimi." Hoseok told his son.
"I'm gonna tell him about daycare!" Huimang said excitedly.
"I'm sure he'll be so excited to hear about it! Let's head over to the river." He said, strapping his son into the car seat.
The three were sitting beside the Han River, enjoying a small picnic. Hoseok and Seokjin were listening to Huimi go on and on about daycare. He told them about how Taehyung would go on the swings next to him and go really high up, how Yecheol would catch frogs with him, and how the other kids would play hide and seek with him. Seokjin loved listening to his nephew talk about making new friends with the other kids and he loved seeing how excited he was to go back. It was only a matter of time before the three rode their bikes around the river, stopping every time Huimang saw something that caught his eye.
The weather was pleasant, the day went by fairly quickly, and the three had fun. Somedays, all they needed was to spend time together. It was a good day. Hoseok sat with Huimang sprawled on the grass, sleeping soundly while Seokjin sat beside him. Seokjin and Haerim looked so much alike, they were twins. Hoseok was in love with her, but he couldn't imagine what it was like for Jin who grew up with her and spent every moment with her up until they each decided to partner off. Haerim would complain to Hoseok before they even started dating about how it was so lonely at home once Seokjin found his boyfriend and decided he would rather spend time with Joon instead of her. Reminiscing on that, Hoseok let out a laugh.
"What's funny?" Seokjin asked, turning to face Hoseok.
"Nothing, I just remembered when Haerim would complain to me about how you were spending time with Namjoon instead of her when you first started dating him." He let out a small laugh, "She said it was stupid that you got a boyfriend only to start dating me a month later."
"She complained? What a sore loser." Seokjin laughed, remembering his sister. "Wait, you guys told me you two started dating way later."
"We lied, I didn't want to tell you at first and I guess I just never ended up telling you." Hoseok laughed again. "I didn't think you'd like that I was dating your sister."
"Oh, I didn't. I lost it when she told me she was pregnant." Seokjin shook his head as he smiled. The memories of his sister always brought a smile to her face. "I wanted to kill you for kissing her at your wedding, I really wanted to kill you knowing you two..." He didn't finish the thought.
"Understood. But Huimang came from it." Hoseok pointed out, looking at his beautiful boy who was still sleeping soundly.
"Best thing Haerim could've left behind before she went up." Seokjin sighed with a smile.
When Haerim had passed, Seokjin was shattered. But despite everything, he never blamed Hoseok for getting her pregnant and making her go through labor, and he especially never blamed Huimang for being the baby she had to push out. He knew Haerim always wanted to have a baby, and she got that for a few minutes before her time came. When Seokjin held Huimi for the first time, he fell in love immediately. He saw his and his sister's face with Hoseok's nose and felt like his sister was living on, just in a new person.
"Best thing to ever happen to me." Hoseok smiled.
"Do you ever think about moving on?" Seokjin asked.
