Sumire Pov:

After the fight against Boro, Kawaki was taken to the hospital.
Katasuke and I had been assigned to supervise him, but I took over most of the time.

I offered him a painkiller because I realised how much he was suffering from the pain. But he refused, saying that his body was robust enough to cope, for better or for worse.

This statement worried me because he didn't care about his own well-being. This situation was another moment where I saw my own reflection in him, I saw my younger self. The younger me that had done everything my father wanted.

I nodded and let him be, but I watched him. Kawaki went downstairs after a while and looked for Boruto, he found him in the entrance hall of the hospital.

After a while, Shikadai and Inojin came to visit them, bringing playing cards with them. The two of them wanted to distract Boruto and Kawaki from all the action, and it was nice to see Kawaki getting involved with the group.
But unfortunately I had to interrupt them, I asked the boys to be quiet as Kawaki wasn't quite up to it yet.

Shikadai and Inojin understood me and said: "yes okay class rep"

They said goodbye and I took Kawaki back to the room. He lay back in bed and looked at me. His look was completely different to usual. He dropped his suspicious manner and his gaze was so tender.

"Tell me, why does everyone call you class rep?" he asked, looking me straight in the eye.

"We were all at the Ninja Academy together and they elected me as class rep," I said kindly.

"I see, what was your name again?"

"My name is Sumire."

He just nodded and looked at the window, then looked at me again.

"Could you inject me with some of that painkiller after all?" he asked.

"Are you really sure?" I asked cautiously.

He nodded to me and I prepared an injection of painkiller

He nodded to me and I prepared an injection of painkiller. I looked at him.

"Are you ready?" I asked cautiously.

"Yes, please do it," he said and closed his eyes. His closed eyes signalled to me that he trusted me. He probably wasn't good with words, but that was okay.
I gladly accepted his trust and would honour it.

I carefully injected the painkiller into his arm. He made no facial expression and opened his eyes again afterwards.
I carefully covered him with the blanket and smiled. It felt nice that he was slowly building up trust.
